I see he's been penciled in to defend the WBO title 30th Nov, anyone heard anything about his opponent? Theres an eliminator between Terdsak Jandaeng & Joan Guzman on the 26th this month, any comments on these guys, anyone see them fight and do you think they'll have a chance?

Joan Guzman is a powerful guy who fought at Super Featherweight a few months back on SKY. Put on a good performance IMO.

Not too sure how he'd do against Harrison though since Harrison is a big featherweight as it is. Harrison is only really troubled by slick boxers who can simply throw a few shots and move out the way, but from what i've seen of Guzman he definitely isn't one of those.

(I do assume Guzman will win the elminator)

Yet another Harrison thread spawns crap abusive posts. Nothing wrong with being critical of the man, but I'd advise saving your abuse for his face.

Harrison had faced some tough opposition and thrown himself in at the deep end a couple of times. He may be a dick but he's not afraid of a tough fight.

Who the fornicate knows him?? I know an ex 'world' champ who is an utter dickhead and who I've had issue with in the past, but you'll never see me post their name or any details. Personal abuse should be kept on a personal level, IMO.

As Cannibal has said, Harrison - though lacking the truly big challenges - has tested himself plenty, much more than a lot of other fighters on the way up. Who cares what a scum-rag like the Daily Record says? Harrison was involved in one domestic incident that was family related, jeez how shocking and rare. The likes of Jake LaMotta, Carlos Monzon and a million others were FAR worse. Harrison has one family related 'rammy' and is 'exposed' by a newspaper that prints as many apologies as it does exclusives, yet you never hear the end of it. Get's pretty damn boring after a few months.

Someone once posted on another thread about the SUPPORT the American's give their Hero's, the "Good the Bad and the Ugly!", that is why they are World "leaders"... ENCOURAGEMENT and support.

They don't fortget their Hero's and because of this overall approval and support they can even boast of their "Stars" that didn't reach the highest honour for reasons known or unknown, proffessing them to be just as great or even better.

We in Britain run around with dozens "rag" newspapers tabloids under our arms that do nothing but pull people apart and once the next poor fool is ripe for the "sqeezing' the last one's are quickly forgotten...

We have much to learn Great Britain, and the sad thing is we have MANY Hero's who deserve/need our Support and ENCOURAGEMENT..!

Jim, I think it's because there are so many miserable people in the UK (for whatever reason) that there is a culture of hyper-sarcasm and tearing people down. The tabloid press is surely one of the most base in the world, and caters to people's jealousy to a certain extent, IMO.

It looks like he's headlining an October 1st card, according to some local newspaper I read ... I'm too lazy to find the link.

Anyway, let's look at the short list:

A. Oscar Leon

B. Gary St. Claire

C. Some 13-7-1 guy from Panama (I kid you not, go see who's ranked #14 at 126 by the WBO)

Oscar Leon would be a good bet, but unfortunately it looks like another defence that has to be boycotted (bringing the total to 4 in the last 6). Saying that, wouldn't mind seeing Khan and Rhodes on the undercard...

Guzman is a slick boxer (when he wants to be).

Harrison better hope Guzman loses, because Guzman is going to beat the metal kinks out of Harrison.

I've spoken to Joan over the weekend. Tough kid. I think he fancies the Harrison fight. Big time.

I would favour Guzman vs Harrison, but its not mission impossible for Scott. If he can take Guzman's power shots he has a very good shot. Very serious questions about Guzman's stamina.

Guzman/Harrison would be a corker. Maybe not one for the purists, but I reckon it'd make up for it in excitement. Say what you like about him, but Harrison rarely takes a backward step.

Harrison/Chi would also be fun (for those watching safely from ringside, or their sofas).

I've never seen the Thai, but you'd fancy Guzman to beat him. I've seen him a few times, live in Cardiff and I watched him absolutely destroy ex champ Sanchez. He was a truly ferocious hitter at super bantam: Sanchez is a very tough customer, but he had no answer to the bombs coming his way - in that fight, Guzman looked a stone cold killer, one of the hardest hitters in the game.

We'll soon know if he's carried his power up to feather, but I'd say he's a very dangerous guy for Scot to take on. Harrison is a big tough featherweight, but I doubt he's been in with a puncher like Guzman so far.
Great fight if it happens.

Never really rated Scott Hrrison and his next fight will be an easy one. He smashed Brodie to pieces but to be fair to Brodie he only looked like he turned up to collect his cheque! The light hitting Brodie had Harrison rocked a couple of times also!

Harrisons next fight will be against someone ranked between 15 and 25 in the world. The day he ever faces a Marquez or a Barrera he will be exposed and made to look like the just above average fighter that he is!

BTW, The Guzman fight wont happen but if it does I see a stoppage for Guzman.

He already has been exposed tbh, harrisons matchmakers have to be shrewd about the matchmaking and make sure they never get an opponent in the mould of Medina and Polo

why do you say that? He absolutely pummeled Joe Morales for the full 12 rounds without even looking like relenting. Morales BTW is a big super feather and guzman looked comfortable even at that weight. He even hurt the teak tough morales a few times.

Guzman would administer an appalling beating to harrison, inside 7 rounds.

Its that very fight I am talking about. He very nearly stopped Morales early and looked electric in the opening 5 rounds. After that he looked average. Morales is tough but only took the fight at a days notice - remember Guzman was supposed/alledgely fighting at Super Bantamweight.

I'm not saying it was to the same level of fatigue at Witter vs Kotelink, but it did remind me of Witter vs N'dou. The snap in his punches and workrate did deteriorate alot.

Not just my opinion I believe, I'm sure there is a thread on this fight in the archives of the British forum.
