At either Light-Welterweight or Welterweight who do you think would have won between Shane Mosley and Meldrick Taylor?
Two fast, highly skilled Champions who mixed with the best of their respective era's.

wow, that would of been a barn burner...my heart says Taylor but I think Mosley would beat him, I think he fought smarter and actually hit harder.

Agree - Mosley probably wins this one - Though Mosely can be out worked - Definitely would have been an interesting fight - Mosely hits harder and has an overall strength edge....but I think Taylor threw more punches and landed better combinations more frequently.

So by the logic that is being started in this thread, Shane has an easier time with Chavez than Taylor did? Just curious because I see them as somewhat similar in style. So if we consider Shane a cut above in class then Shane might pull off a decision with JCC?
I need to give this some thought but on first impression I'm thinking Taylor would win based on my "reverse engineered" thinking regarding Chavez.

Great matchup. Both were really lightweights who ended up over their heads at 154 - Taylor trounced by Norris, Mosley outboxed by Winky.
Mosley had awesome speed and power at 135, but struggled with the weight and went up to 147, 154. He missed out 140, where he would've probably been most effective. We know how good Taylor was at 140.
Taylor would test him to the limit with speed and flurries, he'd give him fits. But Taylor often got drawn into the wars and Mosley might bust him up. I go with Mosley.

No way is the Taylor that lost to Chavez losing to Mosley, I can't see that happening. Taylor has better conditioning then Mosley and throws lots more punches, especially down the stretch. Plus Mosleys power at 135 is over hyped, I think he was killing himself at the weight.

I actually think Taylor is good for the win, providing he can avoid unecessary trading.

I agree with this.
I also think Lightweight Chavez would have battered lightwieght Mosely to a brutal decision win.
