I had another view of Smilie's record following the comments made on my ranking of him. Crickey in 2005 he has been 23 lbs and 17 lbs over the Middleweight limit (according to Boxrec). Is this correct, if yes then what is going on?

No wonder there has been no promotional interest in Smilie vs Maxwell - Smilie will never make middle again if those weights are true.

For those who saw Smiley's 2005 outings so far, has he looked like Naz does now. Nearly two stone over the limit he has got to have had a bit of a gut.

ive seen him at 12 stone 5, just over a year back and he looked in good shape then, he has since been 12 stone 8 and 13 stone 1 but he is muscular so carrys the weight reasonably well, but i think he might struggle to make the middleweight limit, probably be more of a super middle from now on ,but we will soon see.

A bit like Robin Reid then, he has sometimes been around a stone over fighting weight but you couldn't really tell. Similarly with Tyson, even when he was clearly way over his fighting weight he always looked the part.

Even when not in peak shape, Reid usually looked better than most fighters were in there best shape. At his peak he had a pretty awesome physique.

I agree with that James, Reid for all his shortcomings has never had any problem with his conditioning, he always looks in peak physical shape.
