Graham Earl v Yuri Romanov

OO OO Just found out about this one, thought I'd check the general opinion.

I really do like Romanov's boxing, he reminds me of a young Barrera. I loved it when he gave Vanzie a boxing lesson a few years back, and when he beat up on Murray.

They called him the Brit Basher for a while, and Earl said he was gonna do him then.

Well Earl is on form at the mo, and Romanov has been out of the ring for a year, so this is his best chance to do it. How do you guys see this one going?

I say Romanov exposes Earl, and takes a points win.

I wouldn't exactly say Earl was on form after losing to Burns and then having some very dodgy moments against Bennet.

I've only seen Romanov against Vancie, which was impressive.

On the other hand, there is the injury thing for Romanov, plus the political thing as to WTF Earl's being put in with such a potential dangerman without thinking/knowing something that they think Earl will have no problem.

As you can see the creosoted points of the fence are practically up my arse with this one, so I won't even lower the intelligence of the poll results with a vote

Yeah I think I was being a little provocative saying Earl is on form, but he certainly will be expected to win this.

Is it due to injury that Romanov has been innactive? I was unaware.

I think Franky W should get his claws into Romanov, there is alot of money to be made with that boy if he is handled right.

Cheers for your comments Joe, but I must insist you vote.... Go on my man, live dangerously!

Well you've forced me into it. You swine.

P.S. In the cold light of day, an injury to Romanov may not be entirely right, even from my immpecably trained memory. I could have been mixing him up with someone else. Just sure someone mentioned he was injured.

Earl is in for a pounding, Romanov will stop him.

I've gone for Earl. I just don't believe they'd have made this match unless there was something significantly up with Romanov.

ive not seen anything or heard much about romanov since he beat vanzie and murray, but if he can bring that form into the ring with him i would have to make him favourite to beat earl, i go for a late stopage win for romanov.

Stop press: possible explanation as to why Earl would take such a tricky fight - Romanov is #1 by the EBU as opposed to Earl's #3.

So the winner may well take on the winner of Zoff, who's falling back to the EBU after losing to Lavender and a Spaniard with a long name who's 29-0 but who's opposition is ltd and he's only gone a 10 rder twice

I thought Zoff would have to vacate because he challenged for the IBF.

Yeah he did. They are both officially challengers for the vacant title.

If Yuri Romanov is fully fit and has not too much ring-rust to shake off then sadly I feel Graham Earl is in trouble.

Yuri Romanov by late stoppage.
