New look Boxing News!

Received a nice letter from Claude with my copy of BN this morning.
I'm pleased it's going back to A4 as it's better in so many ways.
But I wish they'd leave this "doubling in size" thing alone.
Yes, doubling in size from 24 A3 pages to 48 A4 pages!

I'll go and take a look - good to see it back in it's old format, even the BN staff hated the A3 size they were forced to switch to.

I'm all for A4 size too. The A3 size always slips off your fornicating knees, when you are reading on the khazi! Most annoying it is too

Me to, I never liked the 'newspaper' style.
I'm looking forward to the 'new' Boxing News.

I`m the biggest whinger about BN
So here goes again
Why so many photos in this weeks
24pages and if you took into account the amount of pics and adverts them we only had about 14....check out the pages on Hatton...all photo, and a little write-up...its a trade paper so whats with all that space on silly what-ifs.
A4 is a good thing also because they can`t get away with putting so little in.
If I could interview one British boxer it would be Peter Buckley without a doubt.
The questions you could ask would be better than any recycled Ali piece, just print his record and circle the names and fill in the rest with educated questions.
But no, its easier to fill the paper with pics and anything that mentions Ali....pure lazy :x
Rant over

Yeah i'm not a huge Ali fan as it is but i find the constant Ali pieces tiresome, as for Buckley he was recently interviewed in Boxing Monthly...it was a good piece.

Be interesting to see and read. I finally gave up buying it after the last Xmas issue. Pish poor subscription service and too many adverts. And those adverts were doubled in the Xmas 'Bumper Double' Issue, as was the price.

Who did the interview?
Is there anyway I could read it, somehow?
Like `neil r` I too gave up buying it for some months after Xmas, pissed me off so much the blatant rip-off charging double price to accomadate the xtra adverts and photo`s...and the tiresome Ali pages re-cycled again.
But it is THE boxing paper, and even though I know the results within hrs I still like to read thrie view of it, and every so often they do put in a piece that makes you glad you did buy it.
Incidently I was looking through some of my old RING magazines recently and its clear why this magazine was rated so highly, articles that don`t just rely on the Ali or Marciano genre.
They did articles on the little known but important figures of yester-year boxing.

It might be on the website Tony, or someone on Ebay may be selling a copy, other than that i don't know mate. It was a good article though i think you would enjoy it.

Top man is Peter Buckley
I went up to Birmingham to see him training with some young kids on the addicted to sport programme run by Midlands Area secretary Les Potts
