Already we've seen shockingly amateurish presentation, poor commentators/presenters, a small budget that doesnt stretch far enough to grab all the big name US fights, just a clutch of crappy british fights every blue moon.

Casual sports fans arent going to be drawn back to the game with Joe Calzaghes bum of the month routine, 'Mr Charisma' Amir Khans sub novice 4 rd excitement-fests, and the odd hippo mating session with Matt Skelton.

Its all bollocks as usual & is gonna head down the toilet. Sky have quality presentation, great analysts/announcers, and are picking all the best fights. Unfortunately they dont spend any money whatsoever on actually promoting their shows so nobody other than hardcores actually get to enjoy it.

What a mess. You know it'll never change either.

Yeah your right about that, i was critical of the BBC like most others but they did mostly show competetive matchups. SKY are leading the way and will get stronger now they have shipped off Allegedly and his WBU Crew.

At least its been on live on ITV and ITV have shown two bouts in full (I think with all their shows). Also I thought Froch vs Barney and Arthur vs Sinistin (two of the three Pro shows) were very good and on paper even main events.

The BBC are out of touch with so many of their programs. Boxing is just another example. What a waste of TV license money, i like the amir khan fights but that's about it. At least we can see lacy kick calzaghe's ass in november if the fight actually happens.

I like Steve Bunce, I think he's taken career advice of Roy Walker on cathphrase - "say it how you see it, if you see it say it" - he doesn't care if he upsets people he says what he thinks is right.

You could promote the WBU as a World title fight and stick anyone in the ring the public wont know them.

A two fight Pro by the name of Amir khan is known to more people than the UK's hottest boxing star Ricky Hatton.

Tell them Tarver, Jones, Calzaghe or any fighters that we all know are fighting & who the Fu#k are they to joe public?

The days of Eubank, Benn on tv are long gone

So the BBC or ITV will not pay massive amounts of money, when viewing figures wont improve a great deal for the money they have to pay out.

I told all of you who constantly criticised the BBC presentation that you won't know how good it was until you see the ITV alternative. It always has been like that with other sports.

ABA boxing has made a good point.

I really cannot see the criticism. We have had two hours (instead of 55 minutes on the Beeb) of boxing. Yes, it could be labelled that it is more talk and less boxing but it still shows the same amount of fights in full as Sky. Also, I like the round up of the whole card on the last ITV bill, something the Beeb never did.

Also, it is live and on a decent hour and has Barry McGuigan doing the analysis. Bunce was okay, but give me McGuigan in that role any day.

Yes, I am not looking particularly forward to the next two schedule bills (if the Scotland card is still on) but thats not ITV's fault.

Well I'm just glad we are getting Boxing on SKY and ITV to be honest.

ITV's undercard coverage is the thing that bothers me. A recent example would be Jamie Arthur getting stopped. That was a shocker that needed full coverage (with Jim Watt and Iain Darke on the mic), rather than crummy highlights.

I have heard out and about people talking about this weekends boxing on the TV.

"Its Amir Khan fighting you know"!
"I havent got sky" one said, "No its on itv the other said."

"Who is he fighting? Dont know" he said

There was also Some mention of some mexican by the name of Calzaghe also fighting!

"I wont bother watching that i will tape it and watch Khan fight the next day, After Eastenders"!

"By the way what happend to that other boxer from the olympics that was always on the BBC fighting fat plumbers?"
"What fighter?"



Until things change dont expect full fights that cost alot of money on TV

Is that serious? Audley Harrison is quite an unusual name and with his array of hair styles it is quite hard to forget him.

Well i am happy we got boxing for free. I haven't got sky and i enjoy amir's fights even though we don't see the other full fights.

I just download the fights i havent seen after n dont go on boxin sites in the mean time

I checked the Sky TV guide, seems I was wrong with ITV showing their fights at Prime time.

The Calzaghe vs Eshira show is from 10:30 - 12:05.

Play it to the bone is on after.

Thats the second time ITV have played a boxing movie after the fights.
