This is the big debate now in boxing.
Before his last fight we were all calling for SN to deliver the meaningful fight for Hatton.

We were fearing he would become another Calzaghe and hide his great tallent by not showing us what he could do when push came to shove.

We had grew tired of the silly mis-matches that had become so consistent with the SN title holders.
The game in Britain was becoming ever so tiresome, and we had had enough.

Audley was shown the door, Sky began concentrating on THE fights that mattered from the USA and finally SN delivered the goods...and how they delivered when it mattered

They hyped it brilliantly, Frank showed us why he is Britains number 1.
An old, ring-rusty but universally recognised great champion brought to Hattons door.

Ricky has been well paid, no doubt. And Frank has done well also.
This has to be largely down to Franks promoting skills, he has done amazing.
He has promoted some real stinkers of fights and still sold out.

Hatton too has done well to get so far, because if he wasn`t so good he would have surely been found out by now, he has had some scares but he has got through them.

But now he has decided to leave Frank and from what I understand he will work with whoever he feels does best for him.

Ricky is a young man and his father Ray deals with the details, but is this a good thing?
What prior experience of the fight game does Ray have?

The Hameds did a similar thing.
Obviously they too did what they thought was in Naz`s best interests, but sometimes you can be too close.

Wheres the 'Couldnt care less about Hatton' option?

did naz's brothers make such a mess of his career. obviously the stupid 2 fights a year business didn't help his reflexes. but he got some bumper pay days on HBO and stayed unbeaten for that mega fight against barrera.

i'm divided on whether leaving warren is the right idea. a court case could end up halting his career at a very vital time. at his age he needs to keep ticking over and keeping sharp.

I think it is a great shame that Hatton left Warren at the time of the ITV contract. However I imagen he has something bigger than the biggest UK promoter in mind.

As a few have mentioned, the only shame from my point of view is that we will miss out on seeing Hatton on ITV, as will the public. I genuinly believe that if Hatton was in big fights on ITV he would become a megastar, and that the general public would really get back into boxing. The bbc didn't have anyone like Hatton during their little venture.... and maybe if they did have, we'd still see boxing on the beeb.

In terms of Ricky's career, its the best decision for him. Sure, Frank delivered Tszyu, but so he should have. By the sounds of whats coming out in the press now, he didn't have a huge amount of choice in any case.

It appears obvious that Ricky wants massive fights, against the best opposition available. It also appears obvious that Frank is either unable, or unwilling to deliver these fights... i suspect the latter. I don't think Ricky is the kind of guy just to leave his promotor, ala hamed, and think he can do it all alone... just from a greed point of view. I am confident that if Hatton thought Frank would deliver what he wanted..... massive fights with the big names, then he would have stayed with him... but I also think Ricky knew what the likely route would have been, and has made his decision based on that. I think its the right decision.

Finally, whilst the last few weeks' developments have been entertaining for fans, it is a shame it could all end up in the courts, and dragged through the press.
