MARCEL CERDAN vs LAZLO PAPP 
Both mean were former European Middleweight champions and splendid amateurs, Papp won 3 olympic gold medals and was undefeated when he retired as European champion (by reason of politics).
Cerdan was the Inter-Allied Amateur champion, and later became the French/European Middleweight champion, eventually defeating Tony Zale for the World Middleweight title, only to lose it to Jake LaMotta in his first defense.
Both men have magnificent records, had fantastic matches and had the credentials to be all-time greats, but their careers were cut short.
