Just reading over on SecondsOut.com that Hobson says he's gunna KO Haye, so i got to thinking if he does, do you guys see any way back for Haye after 2 stoppages (if Hobson does KO Haye), i mean where does he go if Hobson does stop him, it would really look grim for the highly touted Haye.

I personally feel that even though Hobson has the belts that Haye has more to lose if he should lose this fight (it may sound strange but i really do believe if Haye losses this one then he's up shit creek without a paddle)

Any Thoughts ???

If haye gets stopped he should get a new trainer and a army team to make sure he trains his ass off.

Think if david were to suffer another stoppage defeat especially as it is likely he may dominate the earlier rounds, as he did agianst thompson, then it points to a major problem.

not sur eif he should hang up his gloves tho only Haye can answer that but maybe a oomplete overhaul of his well criticised training techniques.

which many of us think he should do anyway.

If Haye loses this one then it's definetly back to the drawing board, and his status as a poster boy for British boxing are over.

I just don't think Haye is going to lose this fight. I think that right hand is going to poleaxe the champion inside 3 rounds. Hobson isn't particularly special in any area.

What are peoples picks for this fight?

If he loses, he could still go on to world level, a loss isn't the end of the world against decent opposition.

Will he turn up though? the wheels are already in motion to cop out of this fight once again - Haye himself only rates it as 50/50 if he will be fit, and is dying to get out of it to fight Gurov

Hobson looks so knockoutable that Haye would take some real stick for losing. Haye is the one touted as having world class speed/power. Hopefully Haye makes something of himself, as the cruiser division is exciting on the world scene and in the UK and he does ave ability.

I probably agree that Haye will win via KO over Hobson. That fight with Gurov looks mouth watering also, looks like Gurov has a punch on him & he also been Ko'd a few times, could be a right fight to watch i.e. Just like Haye - Thompson all over again.

Unless Gurov has really slipped I'd pick him over Haye quite strongly. He's busy, has a wealth of experience and really hits.

Haye is more naturally talented than Hobson but Hobson is underrated and is a good strong fighter with heart and I still have doubts about Hayes durability and heart. All in all I'd give Hobson a good chance to bring off an upset the longer the fight goes.

I agree silkov - heart, determination, will to win, mental strength, crisis management, finding a way to win are often overlooked when assessing a fighters overall ability, and can often tilt the balance in the way of the less naturally gifted athlete.

Hobson has all these, can bang with his right hand and is the champion, I maintain Hobson wins this fight big.

From what I've seen of Hobson I've been quite impressed. I'd say he's got a good chance. You can have all the talent in the world but if you havent got the right mental attitude you won't make it.

I used to think Haye would stop Hobson early, and easily. Now, I don't even think the fight will happen. I just don't think Haye wants to fight that much.

Haye's gonna pound Hobson, and early. Just remember how shaky Hobson looked against Bruce Scott and even Moran. He looked ready to fall apart to ANY of old man Scott's punches, and he only threw about two of them a round luckily for Hobson. This won't be close. But will be fun.

Hobson had a bad day at the office against Scott - Im sure he would be the 1st to admit that, and Scott still has power to trouble any cruiser.

When did he look shakey against Moran? fair enough he took a few punches but he knew he could walk through them as Moran lacked the power to trouble Hobson.

It should be good fight while it lasts. Haye for me.
I do like Hobson but I think Haye will hit too hard.

Its no disgrace to have a hard fight with Scott he was a very strong and experienced fighter. The point with Hobson is that he's had tough times in fights and come back to win... which is something Haye has yet shown he can do.

Haye does not seem that prepared for this fight if he was in Aya Napia djing.
I wonder what else he was getting upto certainly wont be training.

I think Haye will be most dangerous early but if Hobson boxes him and gets the fight past the middle rounds I think he could outlast David.
Also Hobsons got a decent punch himself and Hayes chin is less than iron plated.

It's an interesting prospect.
I'd agree with the general Haye early/Hobson late feeling, but would still just about favour Haye.

I'd put money on a fully fit DH though, he's more fluid and agile than Mark. Perhaps better inside too.

What I find strange is that David could very possibly, in time, dominate at cruiser with full dedication.
It's not like he's fighting for food, so we can only guess he's casually doing something he found an aptitude for, basically for the acclaim, without true desire.

i attended the press conference at the east midlands hilton before the last scheduled date for this fight.

i asked david haye the very same question...and he replied, and i quote....

"if i do not win this fight, or if i do not win in style, i will call it a day" !

If it happens, I'd go for Haye to get Hobson out of there early..not many fighters can stand up to the type of first round punching he was dishing out to never-say-die Thompson.
