In an IBF jr welterweight eliminator, Naoufel Ben Rabah (24-1, 13 KOs) defeated Arturo Morua (22-7-1, 13 KOs) by twelve round unanimous decision. Morua was on the deck in rounds nine and twelve. Ben Rabah prevailed 118-108, 119-107, 116-110.

I really hope we never have to see Hatton-Ben Rabah, as much as i despise sanctioning bodies actions i would be made up if they forced Ben Rabah into one more eliminator against Witter or even Tzsyu, if he decides to fight on and not move to welter for a judah fight. Better Hatton-Tszyu II than Hatton-Ben Rabah. Heres wishing...

I wounder if this fight would go to purse bids, i can see it coming down to SN or Golden boys, maybe this will be hatton first world title fight in america, i was hoping for Mayweather or cotto

What's the odds of warren signing him up along with the released from contract Vivian Harris.

Has anyone seen Rabah? I haven't, is he any good? If a contenders good, let him have his chance. I doubt he'll be upto much but you never know.

I can see Hattons next fights as:

Maussa (journeyman that ssomehow made it)
Rabah (probably a class below but I don't know)
Gatti (a really decent scrap but not world class) - Team Hatton said they want a GAtti fight still, I wouldn't complain, fight of the year potential.

Hardly super fights and I'm not sure when they'll have time for one either because they've commited to Maussa they have to defend agaisnt Rabah.

As long as he aint a foot shorter and a stone lighter, I say give the kid his chance. I'm sure a lot of people outside of the UK where saying they would rather see Tszyu fight Gatti or Floyd rather than Ricky. He got his shot he should fight his mandatory if theyve earned it.

Doesnt it only go to purse if the 2 camps cant agree terms? And I would think Rabah would be happy to come to the UK if they can give him a decent payday.

Ben Rabah is a good fighter, He has good power and good speed. He lost early in his career not taking his opponent seriously. Since he moved from the Fenech camp to Craig Cristian he has become a much better fighter. He would be a massive under dog against Hatton but he is a slick boxer and wouldn't be totally outclassed.

that loss to fred kinuthia is a slightly embarassing one. even junior witter whacked him out in 2 rds.

to be fair to rabah he did rematch the guy twice and beat him both times.

a lot of his opposition has been fairly average. to prepare himself for hatton he needs some serious step ups in comp over the coming months.

Like i said above he didn't take boxing to seriously when training with Fenech, He is a much improved fighter since he moved to Perth and started training at Harry's Gym under Cristian.

Fred Kinuthia is like shit in a field, he just seems to appear on everyones record

Rabah has been spoonfed and played the ratiings game like most aussie fighters , his wins over Kinuthai don;t nmean jack shit Kinuthai could more often than not be seen smoking cigarettes just before getting in the ring

i wonder if rabah would beat maussa.
