Is Danny Williams finished?

Has anyone heard anything at all from/about Williams since his *cough* flu? Any snippets/speculation on either his condition or his relations with Fwank?
The only thing I can think of that could bring him back into the picture would be (I mentioned on another thread) a possible fight with Mirovic, who fights for the vacant Commonwealth belt in the middle of November. If Williams could bump off TBA, a win there could bring Williams back into the British picture, although obviously there's huge question marks over his current mental and physical state. Not forgetting as well Mirovic's people may actually have a readily beatable opponent lined up for the title, since they 'got there first.'

I was thinking about this the other day, i dont know of Danny's position at the moment but i personally dont think he'll ever be the same fighter again, that demolition from Vitali was painful to watch & must have took so much out of Danny

Talk about a very short time in the lime-light. He gets a lucky victory over Tyson, then goes to face Vital and gets trounced....

in world terms maybe but Danny has been a decent operator for some time up to domestic / Euro level. think tthats a bit harsh.

Yeah I like Danny, he is a very good fighter and noone should question his heart after his perfoirmaces against Klitchenko, Tyson and Potter (winning the fight with his arm hanging out of its socket). Whether he can come back now after the beating from Klitchenko is another thing. I hope if he does fight again he does so because he really wants to and not because he feels he has something to prove. There are still interesting fights out there for Danny if he did come back. I think he should try for one or two easy wins and then go for a name... Williams vs Audely Harrison would be a interesting fight I think......

Last I read he's supposed to have had a BBBC hearing as to why he pulled out of fighting Skelton.

He could come back from that Vitali beating, loads of fighters have been beaten badly and came back.

I don't much like Williams, but his demolition of Tyson could hardly be called lucky. He showed heart to survive the initial onslaught, but then battered Tyson. No lucky flash punch, it was a sustained 20 punch combo. Career defining moment!!
Knew he wouldn't dare face Skelton though.

But that's just it, it wasn't. It was perhaps a potential-defining moment but Danny's career has had more ups and downs than a fourteen-year-old's right hand.
I like Williams, terrific feller, but following him as a fan is incredibly frustrating.
If you want career-defining then the last Sprott fight, where he had it (and I think won it) but lost it because of lack of effort is as close as you'll get

with williams its always been about where his mind is. Dont forget the shocking 'bored and listless' performance he put in for the third sprott fight. The ref had to ask him if he cud be bothered to carry on fighting halfway through.
And lets clear one thing up--- a peak Mike Tyson would have wiped the floor with Williams, mcbride and yes even Lennox Lewis wud have been felled pinklon Thomas-style in 6

Not so bad being fined 2000 pounds for not telling the med officers. Seems they thought he was genuinly ill. Even if he can;t fight for the British championship he could fight for the EBU if Sprott wins it.

Warren was looking to put Skelton v Williams on before christmas, but Williams was also banned from competing for a british title for 6 months, so thats off now

He has 14 days to appeal, no doubt he will do so if Warren wants to put that fight on. Perhaps a bit of palm greasing could get that 6 months british title suspension lifted? ;)

Maybe, i would still pay to watch this fight if it comes off, Williams would at least train hard to prove that he's no bottler.

Would he though? He was over 20 stone last time which was nothing short of disgraceful.

Don't think he'd bottle from Skelton.
Man 20 stone 3 lbs was heavy though, funny when he was accused of hiding weights in his pants.

Totally, McBride sucked so badly in that fight. In reality McBride is below domestic title level, he was beaten by Michael Murray! Williams or Skelton would beat McBride pretty easily.

Tyson fought a whole lot better against Williams than McBride, that is nonsense.
Tyson came out and treated Danny like a human punching bag for 2 and a half rounds, then ran out of steam and Williams took him down. Admittedly I think Tyson could have gotten up frm that, but he didn't fancy any more of it.
Tyson did fornicate ALL from the off against McBride, it was clear he had no timing, and no desire to fight, he practically sat down and waited to be counted out.
