I am searching for my grandfather's father, who was a bantamweight boxer in California in the early 1900's (around 1920). His boxing name was Jackie Burns (poss just Jack). If you think you have any information, please respond!!!

After 15 years of searching, I was able to find records of my dad's fights dating to the early 1930's on BoxRec.com You might try that for your search.

We have a Jack Burns vs. Dave Shade(1918-07-24 San Francisco)Shade is rated as a middleweight but this was early in his career and there are featherweights on his record. If you don't mind sitting in a library for days scanning micro-film of 1920 California newspapers, that would be where to start. Either that or ask Ric to move to California!
