Delay in Hatton case

Ricky Hatton's high court meeting with allegedly has been rescheduled to October 20. Warren, head of the Sports Network, is seeking an injunction to prevent Hatton, the International Boxing Federation light-welterweight champion, fighting Carlos Maussa, his World Boxing Association equivalent, on November 26 under another promoter. The case had been set for today but has been adjourned "in accordance with an exchange-of-evidence timetable agreed by both parties", according to a statement on the Sports Network's website. Warren says his company has Hatton tied to a three-fight deal but Hatton believes he is a free agent.

Gives him a month before Nov 26th, and knowing FW's legal team they'll not be going to court if they think Hatton will have the case wrapped up by lunchtime.
This is bad preparation for a fighter even of Maussa's limited ability. In fact, Maussa is exactly the kind of fighter who can catch you with ridiculous shots.
Not good. Tua - Barry all over again, I reckon

Its the same thing that happened to Tszyu before he fought Phillips and is not good at all for Hatton.

Maybe Warren will pull out of the court date claiming Hatton is avoiding him?

On the face if it, sounds like Warren wont mind too much about the delay. Instead of a quick possible victory in court today, now Ricky has this headache looming over him for another month - instead of concentrating on his "possible" upcoming fight.

Well either Warren or Hatton has come up with some new evidence, but i don't know which, must have been last minute stuff on friday as well.
As for his Hattons preperation, he should be in training now, anyone know if he's started serious work yet? He must have a few pounds to shed.

Hatton is about 3 weeks into training, he said he was starting training the monday after his brothers recent fight.

David Tua's career was on hold for so long because he was in legal wrangles with Kevin Barry, his now-former trainer, and some pimply little feller called Martin Pugh who's not come out of the whole shenanigans smelling of roses.
Tua lost earlier in the summer, but the dispute was about a property bought with his company's money and not about a fight contract. But the legal issues took away eons of Tua's career and, when you take a Samoan out of training for that long, it's damn tough for him to get it back.
Those boys must have been relieved. If they'd been sent down there would have been a few Islanders pleased to see them...
