Board Lunch - Yet another case of Hatton Arrogance

I went to the Boxing Boards Awards Lunch yesterday and the Hatton clan thanked everybody, even "my Promoter" allegedly (doh!) , but forgot the most important of the lot - his cutsman Mick Williamson! Without this man we would never of heard of Hatton and he would have drowned in his own blood with those early cuts. Still least his car cleaner got a mention, Paul Speak and all his other Barnicles too. What about Bobby Rimmer too? another he failed to mention despite drinking his pub dry on more than one occasion.
Just goes to show that the Hatton clan couldn't give a fornicate about anyone who helped Ricky become the greedy little twat he is today.
Come on Maussa - make my day!

Now then Boxingshat, why does it bother you so much, everyone knows that Mick Williamson has done a great job with Hatton, something that Hatton has mentioned many times in interviews.
If you couldn't give a flying fornicate about Hatton ,why do you seem to only post about him?

I must say im not particularly peturbed on other count.

I dunno, old boxingchat is good for comedy value. He's obviously been churned out on the sports network assembly line, and is programmed to believe that Saint Frank can do no wrong.
Interesting to hear the slow change in attitude of SN to Hatton.
From - "He's like a son to me" "we've never had a bad word, I really hope he sees the light and comes back..."
To
"He's a greedy little twat!!"
What's the odds Frank and Andy will be sitting near the Maussa corner, yelling advice and rinsing his gumshield between rounds?

What's it got to do with you if he didn't thank Mick Williamson? Are you his wife?

People like Mick Williamson, Ernie Draper or seconds Red O'Neill and Lenny Lee should be the ones who are picking up awards for Services to boxing rather than the likes of Barry McGuigan in my opinion.

McGuigan deserves all the success he gets. He was a class act inside of the ring and is a class act as a pundit out of it.

Yes but Services to boxing?. People like Ernie Draper and Lenny Lee are at the majority of shows and do not do it for the financial award

Excellent post and couldn't agree more. Ernie Draper knows more about boxing than most and although people in the trade respect him he deserves some sort of accolade.
Most importantly fighters respect him

Yes Ernie has probably forgotten more than most know about Boxing

i agree... these old boys in the gyms around the country do so much for the game....
Ernie is a legend... guys like him and Jackie Bowers.... certainly know more than most forget.... they seldom get the accolades....

hatton does not owe a continual word of thanks for everyone.
mick williamson has done his job for ricky and has done it well.....but he was paid to do it !!

This initial thread is pathetic...... Hatton showed real class thanking allegedly whilst he is in litigation with him....

Should've thanked Mickey Vann and Paul Thomas (Thaxton bloodbath) more than his cutman!

Mike Goodhalls another great example, he is priceless to most promoters,
the fights he has stopped as an mc screaming at the crowd is countless, should get a peace award at least!!!

maybe ricky should thank the plastic surgeon that took out all the dried vaseline that ricky had embedded under his skin..he hasn't cut since i don't think....so i'm thinking ricky's cutman is lucky still to be in the job!!

it is a good point and with many other examples I'd agree but McGuigan's done so much on the political side of things (showing boxing in a positive light) in Ireland that I can see why the pick was made. Plus the guy does a lot of speaking and general profile-raising - I remember him being very eloquent whilst adressing the Oxford Union in a debate on the ethics of boxing.
But overall we should be looking at guys like cutmen and match-makers, agreed. Nobby Nobbs deserves a knighthood.

No, but Mick is a pal of mine and deserves better. He bled like a used Tampax early on and Mick kept him in the fight many times. What the fornicate did Paul Speke ever do for him other than kiss his lily white ass, yet he get's a mention. As for the comment about the dry vaseline, fornicate me, what does this knob know about it. They shaved the bone down not removed any dry vaseline. Show some respect and get some knowledge you moron.
