Oliver McCall & Juan Carlos Gomez fight in Germany for a WBC Eliminator, i find this fight quite interesting actually, kinda hard to pick a winner IMO.

Yes, but the prospect of either of them fighting Vitali hardly sets the pulse racing does it?

What the hell have either of those two done to deserve an eliminator? That is beyond ridiculous.

I know the heavy division is shite but this takes the piss as an eliminator.

Although in saying that I expect Gomez to be able to outbox McCall if he can outbox Sam and if he fights Vitali at least he wouldn't be a target sitting there waiting to be hit and would at least offer some movement. Of course i'd fancy Klitschko to stop him in about 4 rounds though.

I know, neither of them have beaten Mike Tyson recently. It just doesn't stack up, is Oleg Maskaev unavailable?

Anyway, isn't it a pre-requisite that Vitali opponents are 30lbs over weight?

Lewis, Johnson, Sanders, Williams......what odds Rahman at 260?

Of course realising your post was tongue in cheek but Maskaev fights Sam next. Should be a good fight.

I can see it all unfolding like this: Vitali disposes of Rahman, McCall sneaks past Gomez. Klitschko takes a year off to allow the 40 year old McCall to put on the excess 30lb's he needs to be carrying in order for Vitali to fight him. Vitali beats a fat and old McCall, then proceeds to point out that as he's now handled the 2 guys who beat Lewis, Lennox should come out of retirement sometime around June 2007, and give him the rematch he's always deserved.

Simple.

Both Sam vs Maskaev and Gomez vs McCall are eliminators, the winner of those two fights probably have to face each othter before they can become mandatory challenger.

Danny Williams must have misread the fight contract as he was carrying an extra 60lbs!

Vitali's got to be more active if he's going to be pressured with madatories all the time.

He had two until that interim and if they are both final eliminators then he'll have another two! But Vitali cares more about looking good outside of the ring than fighting so he'll keep getting these mandatories and won't be active enough to unify. I hope Rahman Ko'es him and then he'll become a sore loser again if he loses since he can;t take losing.

After the way Vitali acted after the fight he don't deserve no rematch, he's a fraud and probably waited for the right time to catch Lewis. He was well going to get Ko'ed anyway and an inshape Lewis would of done it faster.

Lewis claims here they paid Johnson to step aside knowing thathe was out of shape andnot prepared and said he was training for Lewis all along. Don't know if it's true but was a claim from Lewis on here.

If Vitali really wanted these fights he'd show it.

McCall-Gomez is a joke fight, surely the winner doesn't get a show at Vitali? Who wants to see Klitschko beat up a 40 year old McCall with too good of a chin to go down, for 12 rounds? I hope Gomez beats McCall, if he comes in at a decent shape at least he can be competetive with his speed and ability.

If Vitali could just get on with the job of unifying the division, I'd like him a lot more. I know he doesn't want to work with Don King, but sooner or later he has to swallow his pride a little bit.

Lennox worked with King without having to sign with him for a title shot why not Vitali?

Gomez should easily outbox McCall but McCall always has the punchers chance.

If the winner has to fight Sam-Maskeev winner I'd say thats a deserving title challenger for sure. Gomez would easily own Sam again too. If Gomez can get his act together he can offer a decent challenge to Vitali with his speed and skills. It just depends if Gomez has the chin/power to keep Vitali away. (and yes I saw him getting destroyed against Diaz)

His conditioning was awful against Diaz he had a big podgy belly and just showboated before Diaz's clubbing swings caught him and he couldn't recover and was subsequently beaten against the ropes. When Gomez fought Sam he was fit and mobile and gave Sam problems with his movement, i am not saying he will beat Vitali because i doubt he will but if he is in shape he has the potential to at least make it interesting. I hope he beats McCall, McCall has had his day i don't want to see him fighting for "world" titles at 40.

Its amazing how short govering bodies' memories are - McCall only recently lost (think it was too Williamson).

The WBC Klitschko relationship is fast becoming a joke. The Rng magazine were far too swift to make Klitschko champion.

Shannon Briggs gave Lewis problems for a while before being stopped, as did Bruno, neither of them was made the champion.

Klitschko should have had to fight another champion to get the Ring belt.

My current fav heavy is Brewster. He can punch, has guts and keeps coming.

Brewster v Byrd is the fight I want to see. Yep, I'm seeking help, but in thje meantime stuff the big lug from Ukraine - he fight's fat guys.

Give me Brewster's Millions anytime.
