Somebody thought it'd be a good marketing ploy, I suppose.

The point is the people involved can make loads of money by further milking The Contender

This is a surprise!! I would never have thought they would have a rematch between these two, Sly certainly never gave that impression anyway during his commentary.

Gone right off the contender and the whole idea after Thomas Hauser's article on secondsout about it and Ishe Smith.

Does anyone know if Ishe managed to get out of his contract with the contender, i thought he was going to court in September but i have heard nothing on the matter since.

Sad but true say goodbye to any credability you had peter and sergio. Two good boxers who should have be given the chance to get out and make some good fights but they are back fighting each other for the 'coveted' contender belt.

I think that it is still going through the courts.

Smith has his own website and he regularly gets on the forum and tells everyone what is going on.

Ishe Smith will never be as long as he is forced to keep fighting out of his weight division.

I was talking about Mora and Manfredo. Smith is by far the best fighter on that show.

Are they still fighting a daft 6 or 8 rounds whatever it is! They could go for 25 rounds before Manfredo or Mora knocked either of each other out! They both cant punch for shit!

I enjoyed watching The Contender and will watch the second stint of it.

However, I hope there is no more of those silly challenges and more training footage. IMO, the first coming of The Contender lacked training and boxing footage.

Money is exactly the reason why the show is returning. As if Sylvester Stallone & Ray Leonard need it!

As for the rematch, Mora will probably win again.

Its over 7 rounds.

As for the next series, they are doing away with the challenges and showing more of the fights and training. I read that somewhere cant recall where though.

As this fight is being shown on ESPN in America, does that mean it will get shown on Channel 5 in England?

By the way, The Contender dvd is out this month.

Smith absolutely schooled Mora in their fight but was robbed that is common knowledge. If those two fought over 10 rounds Smith would absolutely TKO him to fornicate and Mora is 2 divisions bigger than him!

I had a look in there a while ago. Funny how the judging went for that fight, one had Smith winning every round, the other two were something like 49-46 for Mora. That smells fishy to me, and I read a report by someone who was there who said Smith won every round and nearly KO'd Mora in the 5th. They certainly didn't edit the fight like that. So all in all the Contender turned out to be an absolute farce, and the promoters who were going to revolutionise boxing have turned out to be more crooked than the guys they said they'd be replacing in the sport!
