Noel Wilders has pulled out of fridays fight with Bernard Dunne , apparently Wilders preperations were not going well and he decided to drop out.

He is repleced by on Sean Hughes who is Wilders stablemate.
Not a great match up i think Dunne will be to much for Sean, probaly 4-5 round KO

Dunne has been pretty piss poor in his last few fights and hasnt impressed me at all. Hopefully the drop in weight can bring about some change but from what he has shown thus far he would have difficulty just contending at European level

I think Dunne is overrated, i expect him to get found out when he steps it up.

Been with Sean this week hes been training for an English title fight against marc callaghan, although its come a little soon his attitude seems to have changed and Mick Marsden must have given him a kick up the arse!. I think he might surprise a few people on friday although i do agree Dunne may know too much. But upsets have happend in the past! Best of luck Sean

Yup. I think he was being built up a little too much when he was based in the States. When I finally saw him, I was expecting much more. And from what I've heard, he hasn't really progressed. I'd be happy to be proved wrong (it wouldn't be the first time, trust me), but I can't see Dunne going that far, in world terms at least.

Having seen them both, I can't imagine Dunne losing this one.

2nd round stoppage for Dunne. RTE coverage nearly made me vomit. They would have the average viewer believing that the IBC "world" championship was a definitive prize in boxing and even had the gall to compare Jim Rocks title win to Steve Collins and then made me vomit again by saying that Dunnes career had been building since he was 5 to win the IBC "world" title. Then Dunne sounded like an idiot on the mic by saying that winning the IBC title puts him up there with the best in the world.

How did Dunne look Cannibal, commentary aside? I still stand by my belief that he's overrated and not going to world class, but did he show any improvement tonight?

Commentators made him sound like the second coming but he got caught a couple of times in the first, bit of a leaky defense. Good at picking his shots, peach of a shot wobbled Hughes in the second and he finished it nicely by pouncing on him until the ref stopped it. Could see him being one of those nearly men who gives top guys trouble but always falls just short. European level would probably suit him nicely.

Like the fact that he has brought about a mini revival in Irish boxing though. At least we are getting some shows promoted here again but I'm not happy that Brian Peters is not trying to develop more Irish boxers on the undercard with his national TV exposure, if Dunne gets found out all we have is a limited 33 year old Jim Rock to fall back on and I feel that if he was a headliner RTE would soon loose interest in Irish boxing again and we'd be back where we started with no major boxing shows on the horizon.

Did Dunne mention Pickering at all? Would you give him any hope against him?

I think Dunne could beat Pickering and I'd fancy him if the two were to meet. Dunne is definitely better than all of Pickerings previous opposition and it is the fight I'd like to see him look at taking, provided he gets by Hunter. Unfortunately there was no mention of it at all, just him going on about how winning the IBC belt was the greatest moment of his life, he probably thinks the IBC is a better belt than the EBU by the sounds of it and that is truely sad if he believes it.

I think Pickering would beat Dunne with ease. He would keep him at the end of his jab as Dunne's defense (even last night) is leaky.

I don't think it'd be with ease, he could beat him alright, I view it as a 50/50 fight which is why I'd like to see it.
