Amin was reputed -as per his own press releases- to have been heavyweight champion of the Ugandan Armed Forces when he was an enlisted man, before becoming an overweight dictator..
So what your sayin here is that he was just Joe Six Pack with a crown.Decagon wrote:Here's something I wrote about him last summer:
- Called, "A splendid type and a good football player," by the British Foreign Office.
- Called his death squads the "State Research Bureau."
- Let the PLO use the Israeli Embassy in Kampala as a headquarters.
- Insisted on being called by his full name: "His Excellency President for Life, Field Marshal Al Hadji Doctor Idi Amin, VC, DSO, MC, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea, and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in Particular."
- Challenged Muhammad Ali to a boxing match, and proclaimed himself World Heavyweight Champion when Ali didn't respond.
- Proclaimed himself "King of Scotland" in 1977.
- Used his mansion as a torture/interrogation center.
- Sometimes ate his victims, reportedly.
- Decapitated his enemies, sat their heads at the dinner table, and talked to them.
- Almost completely illiterate.
- Got shitloads of money from Western goverments.
- Never spent a day in prison.
- Had some 50 children.
- Died of old age.
Don't forget he was given asylum in Saudi Arabia while he was overthrown in Uganda and lived a comfortable life off the generous monthly stipends the Saudi Royal Family gave him.Decagon wrote:Here's something I wrote about him last summer:

I mean the Russian government wasn't really scared of him, they were more annoyed. Creepy one thing.... but evil? noSeamus wrote:Rasputin on a list of the most evil people ? That's ridiculous. At the very worst he was a womanizer. Alot of Russians were creeped out by him though, and it created this very dark image. He easily makes my top 20 most interesting people in history list.
Who is #1, who is the champ.generic screen name wrote:Amin isn't a nice guy. I have a book that lists the most evilest world leaders and he made the cut. I dunno how Rasputin made it there he was just a creepy guy more than a evil guy.
