lightweight fight on eurosport last nite. excellent fight, i think meager got the decision because he is hennasy's fighter and it was his promotion. although it was a close fight i think watson landed the cleaner shots and edged the fight. when one of these guy's fights murray that will be another great battle.

Saw the fight last night and a good scrap it was too. Loved Duke McKenzies punditry, he had Watson two points ahead going into the last round, then kept saying it was all on the last round, then suggested Meager had won the fight without any hint the last round was 10-8.
Meager got the nod after offering his hand to the ref on the final bell, Watson might reasonably feel he'd won but after a gutsy late display by Meager, Watson seemed to exhausted to play boxing politics.

john murray is the one i'm referring to, the up and coming prospect. not steve murray as i havent seen him.

I was at the fight and tend to agree. I thought Watson probably diserved the nod as he was landing the cleaner punches and his workrate was imense, but a cracking fight and have seen much worst decisions. If I remember correctly I think Watson was a substitute with not a great deal of notice.

thought that watson won the fight as he seemed to be scoring with the cleaner punches and blocking alot of meager's. As usual another home tome decision. Fair play to mick hennesy for matching meager up with a very good opponent and not just another journeyman ( no disrespect to the journeymen out there). :box:

I saw this fight... It was very exciting! I thought it was very close but I agreed that Meager did just enough to take the victory.

I was ringside for this one and watching it again only confirmed what I originally thought, and that was a win for Watson. Also, Eurosport missed out the first three rounds and Watson came out of the blocks fast.
Great fight!
