I was just going through some records on the database and noticed that it was ten years ago tonight that Scotlands James Murray lost his British Bantamweight challenge to Drew Docherty.

Two days later James Murray died due to injuries sustained in the fight.

I remember watching this fight on TV Murray was so brave and determined to win the title he so badly wanted but alas it was not to be.

Very sad.

I also seem to recall that Drew Docherty was also deeply effected by this fight which of course it totally understanable. He was never quite the same fighter again.

It doesnt seem anything like ten years - time does fly.
