is there any chance 29 yr old rossito with 30wins from 35 fights can beat haye tonight? he's not a puncher with just 17 ko's and is a big outsider with bookies at 7/1. haye is 1/12 which is ridiculus. looking forward to watching it though 10pm sky sports 1. will haye stop him?

haye 1/6 to win by ko/tko or disqualification. odds look crap. think i will just watch and enjoy the fight.

Rossito doesn't have much of a chance, I think Haye will KO him inside 4 rounds.

All over in 2. Haye picked his shots well and landed some nice shots to the body and a couple of good chopping hooks in a feeling out first.
In the second Haye opened up more and badly hurt Rossito with a straight right which made him cover up and stagger into the corner.
Another straight right made the Sicilian wobble back against the ropes later in the round.
Just before the bell went David opened up in the middle of the ring and a straight right hurt his opponent. As Rossito backed away a sweeping right uppercut clipped him on the head and he fell backwards to the canvas against the ropes. He got up on the bell at 4 but Mickey Vann waved it off as he didn't look interested. No complaints from his corner or indeed the fighter himself.
Gurov would punch back and David's chin is still to be tested. Indeed it failed him against Carl Thompson.
We haven't really found out anything new about Haye. So he remains the enigma. :TU:

I don't like him, he's got a load of talent - but I want to see him floored.

Maybe he's not coming over right on TV, but really he's a personable and funny guy. Just confident not disrespectful. That's the difference between him and EG Naz...

Well I thought his comments about the countries Light Middleweights needing headguards and/or him needing bigger gloves was very disrespectful to the leading Light Middles.

He has talent, don't think he will get to world level or anything - but I do want Wayne Alexander to land one on him, sorry aswell.

True, but he sort of has his tongue in cheek, though he knows he is good. The difference is he has good values, he is not just cocky and self centered

Glad to hear that, anyway me saying I want to see him floored should be taken as a compliment - means I will pay to see him lose. I bought every Hamed PPV untill Calvo. All for the one reason - never the undercard (apart from Tyson vs Holyfield) - all for Hamed and all to see him lose. Even in fights I knew he wouldn't lose (Baddillo, Vasquez) etc - I bought them, just incase.

How set in stone is Haye=Gurov? More than a fight with Hobson I take it?

Haye looked Ok against an opponent who did not give a damn and just wanted to collect his cheque. Some great combinations and a few lovely uppercuts, but it was no more than a sparring session

I noticed that Haye gives his right hand a shake after he throws it. A tic that can't be untaught I fear and I suspect someone higher up is going to pop a left over there one time when he is giving it a flick at an inopportune moment

ref micky vann was obviously instructed to stop the fight as soon as possible and not to take any chances with haye's stamina. Rossito was up at the count of 2, with only a couple of seconds to go in the round and the ref stops it? In America they would have been booed out of the place. But we put up with any old crap corruption here. I was very disappointed with the stoppage as it was done too early. That ruined the fight for me. haye picked his puches well , showed he has awesome power and would have probably finished the job in the next round. The fight should not have been stopped so soon.
This puts me off the sport and i think it stinks.

Think that's a bit harsh. Thought his chin was good against Thompson and that he lost because he punched himself out and his stamina was possibly lacking.

True, but I don't think you can say he proved himself to have a GOOD chin vs Thompson, and remember Lolenga Mock.

Haye did catch one high on the head from Mock though and that can disorientate anyone, look at Elcock versus Murphy he was out in one round and then went through 12 with a puncher like Dann. Anyway i am not so sure Haye is majorly "chinny", it wasn't one punch that beat him versus Thompson it was an accumulation and as we mentioned before his pacing of the fight was poor.

I thought Haye's punch picking was good last night, he didn't waste much and targeted the body well, i don't think the stoppage was a bad one either. You can't blame Vann, Rossitto basically retired himself, he got up with a disinterested look and wobbled forward slightly and as Vann hit 7 on the count he staggered back against the ropes, what could the ref do?

I don't know why but i don't really like that Small guy either, something griped me about him. He seemed to be trying too hard to be a "character" and just seemed cocky with a big gob..."The fight was like a tortoise against a turtle ed err adam err a rabbit against a tortoise erm..." what the f**k?

And James Hare, sorry to Hare fans he is a nice fella and i wish him well but i don't see him going anywhere at all, his time has been and gone.

Shouldn't have stopped it probably but that guy would not have made it out of the next round.

I agree, Haye looked good last night and seems to be thinking about his work a little more these days. But he was in with an opponent who looked in poor shape and seemed to lack desire, although I suppose it wasn't me taking those shots of Haye.

Yes I noticed that to.

Didn't learn anything new about Haye. His pacing has always been good apart from vs Thompson - he looked the bees knees vs Arthur Williams.

Need to seem him in a fight that captures the imagination, to see how he reacts when in that pressure.

Didn't think a great deal of that Ajetovic guy, he had some nice moves and he got the job done in the end. However, if Collins' would have survived I would have been dissapointed - cause he didn't really seem to know when he was hurt. I think a fighter with natural killer instinct would have sensed he was hurt and in serious trouble a few rounds before.

Also, I thought he was a little tense and didn't have the "flow" of a world class prospect.

I agree Stu, i didn't really agree with Nelson when he suggested Collins is a yardstick you beat at a point to move on, i think if you have pretensions of the higher levels you need to stop Collins. Ajetovic showed class in spurts i think he needs to be fine tuned as Adam Smith suggested.

I think Haye seriously needs rounds and should be put in with a tough nut who can take him a few after he fights Gurov. Maybe they could match him with Abdoul who took Macarinelli the distance, even if the Belgian offers minimal output he could at least take Haye into the later rounds and give him a feel for pacing himself over the 10 or 12.

I was a bit disappointed with Haye's comments regarding Hobson at the end as well, when asked if he would accomodate Hobson after fighting Gurov he said something like "He has his chance and obviously didn't fancy the job" the fact Hobson had shingles coupled with the fact it was Haye's fault the first fight didn't come off i thought he was a bit out of order.

Bring on Gurov, from what i have seen of the Russian he is a mover who throws plenty of shots...similar in style and looks to Vasiliy Jirov. The only fight i saw him in was with Mormeck and he was winning by using his jab on the outside when the relentless pressure of the Frenchman caught up with him, should be a very interesting matchup with Haye.

Very disappointed with the Haye fight, not David's performance, which was flawless, but the Italians threw only a couple of punches as long as it lasted.

He looked out of shape and uninterested, still joking when they touched gloves, won't be surprised if he'd never fight again.

It was a decent performance by Haye but he didn't have much in front of him, I thought Rossitto would have at least tried to have thrown some punches.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to say I hope Anthony Small gets brutally KO'd by someone, he's not my kind of fighter at all and I wouldn't mind seeing him in with someone like Moore or Alexander who would shit-kick him senseless.

This was a perfectly fine stoppage. He may have been up early but he was stumbling all over the place and only the ropes/corner kept him up. Count was up to 8 and he was still out on his feet. It would've been over 5 seconds afterwards had it continued....
