I know I'm going to get shot down by Chrish (Ashton) and say I don't know shit... But, I am quite concerned about Hare should he step up back to domestic class. Something look "missing" today, he got the win but lacked the spark of old (IMO). Sure, I am fully aware that it was a late change of opponent and how that can make you look poor but he had a vulnerability about him and his timing looked very off.

What concerned me also was that he seemed pleased with his performance. I was fully expecting him to say similar stuff to what Johnny Nelson said in the post fight stuff, but he seemed contented. Awkard southpaw or not, Hare was taking shots that I didn't expect him to take and the stoppage (as the commentators did stay) did spoil the fight at an intriguing stage.

I hope Chris he has been performing better in training because judging by this performance alone (I haven't seen him in training) he looked a shadow of the guy who was Commonwealth champion and looked on the verge of securing a world title fight.

Well, if you're getting shot down, so am I. Hare looks so far from the form he showed a few years ago: He's getting hit by shots he'd have danced away from, his timing is off (compared to his very best), and there's a serious lack of pop in his own punches. And this is all at a level well below the one he was looking so good at when in his prime.

Johnny Nelson was the voice of reason tonight: Hare's best days are behind him, and you wonder if he's got it in him to get back to the top of the domestic tree. Just a few years ago, Hare was a classy Commonwealth champ who looked destined for bigger things. Right now, could you honestly back him against the winner of the proposed Commonwealth eliminator between Nuumbembe and Okine, let alone the champion, Anderson? It's such a shame to see, because Hare impressed me so much when he was on top of his game, but he looks to be on a serious downslope now. If he can somehow get it back, I'll be delighted, and I'll eat plenty of humble pie. But I just can't see it happening.

I don't know why but Hare has never excited me, he looked off last night and struggled at times against a tough opponent but a 6-4 guy, he also looked average against Starkov. I just can't see where he can go next.

I agree with you stu, he doesn't look like the fighter he's been in the past and boxers always look better in the gym than they do when they meet an opponent for real - that's what Chris Aston will be going off.

I think they should give him another couple of fights this year and see if he looks any better but if he doesn't it might be time to call it a day.

He needs to get his arse in the gym and get down to light-welter. He's never been big enough for a welterweight and sorry, you have to be an exceptional fighter to get away with that Ingle style he's got. Once your reflexes start going you're in trouble. He didn't have the zip of old because I thought he looked a bit heavy and just seemed to be going through the motions. I think he's had his day as a serious title challenger, domestic or higher.
