I would say Hatton at LW and Margarito or Zab at W.

Tszyu at LW, De La Hoya or Margarito at W.

Why is Corey Spinks always not mentioned in such polls, give him more of a chance than Mitchell, Corrales or Castillo.

I had Spinks and Corrales in but it said I had too many options in there so took them out as I guessed the majority of people would not have picked either of them.

Margarito is over rated. Mayweather would make him look silly.

Old Tszyu is too slow for Mayweather. Mayweather vs A younger Tszyu would have been fantastic.


Out of this list... I'm gonna say Shane Mosley. I just think he has the tools to beat Mayweather...

You're going to have to be powerful, with a good chin, but most importantly, fast and skilled enough(Feet and hands) to catch him often.

Judah and Hatton each lack one of these qualities, Mosley doesn't.

Do you think that the current version of Mosley would be faster than Judah? I would think not. I don't understand why everybody is saying that Mayweather would be too quick for Judah. Judah is extremely fast, as was Spinks, and Floyd would have to slow down a tad if he stepped up another 7 lbs. I don't think the speed difference at 147 lbs between Judah and Mayweather would be very much.

Disagree with your option, Moseley is shot. He hasn't got the speed anymore to catch Mayweather. Also, when is the last time he scored a KD? I'll tell you vs Adrian Stone (who was chinny) over 4 years ago.

Agree with your theory, but surely DLH fits into that catagory more these days. First match, Moseley was significantly quicker than Oscar - rematch time it was DLH who was the quicker of the two.

Zab has the speed, power and confidence to give Floyd trouble. And his suspect chin might even hold up, seeing as Pretty Boy isn't a one punch ko artist.

I was also thinking DLH... But would DLH have the heart anymore to actually get the job done? After watching his fight with Hopkins, I am not so sure.

Yes. Good call, Forrest is massive and has long reach and a serious dig, but he's at 154 now.

I say Forrest has the best chance. He's tall, he's got speed, and power, and skills. He's got a huge reach as well.

Forrest has a problem fighting under alot of pressure, he's more of a strategist than a natural boxer(like Toney, or Mayweather). I don't see Mayweather as being aggressive enough to intrude on Vernon's tactical thought process.

I think Forrest, tszyu and Delahoya would give him the most trouble Forrest is so tall and has an excellent jab, Tszyu is great at cutting off the ring against fast fighters and Oscar has speed power and is a very smart fighter.

DLH without hesitation : he is the bigger man, and the only reason he lost twice in his last 3 fights is they were at middleweight and Oscar had lost all that made him a great fighter at middle : speed, power and stamina.
DLH is prolly the smartest, craftiest most complete fighter u can find at welter...Mayweather relies on pure reflexes and skill...DLH thinks a lot and analizes a lot...he fought Whitaker who has similar style to M0ayweather, also fought Mosley...

Light-Welter: both Hatton & Cotto are 50/50 fights for Mayweather in my opinion

Welter: against Judah & Mosley he is definately the underdog, i'd say 75/25 in favour of the bigger men.

Keep him away from the light middles and middleweights. He would have to be super selective with his opponents, 10 x more so than he is just now, and even then he would have to be on the run for 12 rounds to avoid geting sparked. It would be about as entertaining as watching paint dry!
