Tuesday night (18th) in Liverpool was special.
At the 4th Under 17s World Amateur Championship two English boxers won gold and a third took silver. English boxers had previously never won a medal.
Winner at 46 kilos Khalid Saeed Yafai from the Birmingham City club.
Winner at 70 kilos Anthony Agogo from Lowestoft.
Consider this - they boxed and won four times against Russians, Cubans, Kazaks, Americans and Uzbeks. Only Cuba won more gold medals - England beat Russia!

Bodes well for the future.

Hopefully Khalid will be a future Brummie star

The winner in the 80kg class won on outclassed 15-0 in the first round, I bet we will be hearing more about him in 08 or 12.
