I liked both of these guys.I would think however that Fenech would be too much bulldog for McGuigan. After seeing McGuigan lose to S.Cruz,my confidence in him plummeted.Cruz was alright, and had good basics, but this was the guy who had beaten 2 of the top featherweights in B.Taylor,& E.Pedroza, and should have cleaned Cruz's clock.Fenech was rough, rugged & raw.He would storm ahead, and take what McGuigan threw, and respond in kind.I think McGuigan's heart, keeps him in the fight. But I think that Fenech takes a hard-fought decision.

McGuigan comes into the ring to the theme from Rocky, his Dad sing's Danny Boy, and then thousands of Irishmen began chanting "Bahree-Bahree-Bahree". McGuigan establishes his body attack in the opening round which takes away Fenech's all out relentless style of attack. Forced to back off and box more, McGuigan's constant head bobbing is too much for Fenech and Barry takes a UD by 4pts.

zI'd be fairly confident that Fenech at his best would be able to exert more pressure than Barry would be able to handle. Fenech close UD

Very good one But don't be swung on your decision on this fight with what happened in Vegas against Cruz.
That fight has been well documented elsewhere and Barry went to court over that fight.
He fought from round 10 without a water bottle and was severely de-hydrated hence the very close points loss.
McGuigan, at his peak would have given Fenech a torrid time for the full 15 rounds, but bith these guys were like a oair of terriers going at each other .
It would have gone the distance. As to a winner, too close to tell

Like I said,I liked McGuigan. And I do remember the dehydration in the Cruz fight. This is a close fight to call.I picked Fenech, but would not be surprised for McGuigan to rise to the occasion,as he did against Taylor,& Pedroza.

Barry should have the weight advantage but look at how Fenech dealt with Nelson in their first fight. I think Barry made a few errors with his career but he was a terrific fighter. He ahd weaknesses but I don't see Fenech having the style to take advantage BUT I do think Jeff achieved more and was a step up in terms of career achievement. This would be a superb fight but Fenech takes a clsoe UD to set up a rematch.

To use the Cruz fight as an example as to why Fenech would win is ludicrous......we all know that Barry could never have won in that environment. Barry would have destroyed Cruz had they fought in a climate acceptable to Barry.....c'mon Cruz was raised in those types of conditions, Barry was raised in wet 'oul Ireland......Anyway the fact is that on both their best days, this would be one hell of a tough fight, and because both guys never gave an inch, had bags of stamina and heart it would be a classic. I'm gonna' pick Barry for two reasons, one is his chin..pure granite, better than Jeff's and secondly is his more damaging punch, both to body and head....late TKO or points win I feel
