Lacy demolishes Pemberton

IBF super middleweight champion Jeff Lacy (21-0, 17 KOs) scored a second round KO over Scott Pemberton (29-4-1, 24 KOs) Saturday night at Caesars Tahoe in Stateline, Nevada. Lacy dropped Pemberton twice in round two with devastating punches. The second time Pemberton went down the fight was immediately stopped by referee Vic Drakulich with no count. The firsdt knockdown came from a Lacy right hand. The second knockdown was the result of a left-right combination. Time was 2:59.


A very good result for Lacy, I did think he would win maybe inside 8 rounds, but in the 2nd is a great result. Lacy his building his reputation up well and is keeping busy. Good result for the IBF Champion!

I hope the Calzaghe and Lacy fight pulls off even more so, Lacy keeps sending the warnings out think and fast!

Calzaghe wants a fight, hes got one for sure at his "Own Weight" first.

Forget it, Lacy-Calzaghe will never happen.

JC is more likely to fight Pemberton now after Lacy blew him away. Expect JC to face another mandatory in Feb/March as (yet another) tune up/ warm up fight before taking on Mikkel Kessler...

Thats the general feeling, I think the form of Lacy and staying active, Calzaghe would have a hell of a job in front of him. I do hope it happens, but the chances are running slim.

Couldn't agree more mate, it kinda pisses me off when i see the American boxers (No disrespect to any Americans) and what they do, they seem to have a different attitudes to the british boxers and fight more often with more established boxers (and i'm not pointing that last issue at Calzaghe .

I'd just wish that the British boxers would take that step and face different opposition to what we are used to seeing i.e. A good example of what i'm trying to get at is benn who went to America & fought a different pedigree of fighter or this young Murry lad who of late is fighting abroad of late.

I see Joe looking to defend against an Otis Grant or Anthony Mundine before trying to lure Beyer into a unification and then step up and get a crack at Clinton Woods and defending against Roy Jones. In each fight Joe will be the favourite and thats why he'll do it.
I would be shocked if he risked it all against Lacy, Tarveer,Danny Green or Mikel Kessler. Those matchups spell excitement, anticipation and parity which is why Warren and Calzaghe want no part of them.

These guys need to fight. It would be a career defining fight if Joe C were to beat Lacy. He doesn't have one yet, not unless you consider Robin Reid or a shot Eubank to be one. I think this would be a fantastic fight and I fancy Lacy to do the job, but not easily.

I agree, they certainly do, Lacy is a strong and proving champion now. He's certainly the best Super Middleweight Champion out of American in the last few years. Joe has an explosive rival now. With all the Calzaghe fights falling through, it would be a real shame for Boxing fans if this fight never happened.

I always liked fights at Super Middleweight, its been a few years now from a real explosive "Super" fight there, this fight has that wrote all over it. It has to happen!!
