I have never been Scott Harrisons number one fan, in all honesty, I think he is overatted and quite limited. However, I think Warren and Maloney are blatantly trying to make him move up to SF to try and avoid the Guzman mandatory. I am glad he is staying at feather to face Guzman and not following his managers and promotors advise to move up. I hope he wins now and proves me wrong about his abilities, he sure has a big heart...

I've been critical of Harrison in the past, I think too that he is limited and one dimensional, but I do admire his heart. He took an awful pasting against Polo in the last few rounds, and somehow kept on coming. I don't believe he deserved to retain his title that night, but he showed real guts.

Yeah I agree, I also like the way he told the two Franks to get fu**ed and leave him be at Feather.

With regard to his single dimensional style, I think Guzman falls perfectly into that dimension. He is an ideal opponent style wise for Harrison, and I fancy Harrison to beat him!!! Or go out on his shield.

I believe Harrison said "Get me a title fight at super feather and I'll move up", obvisously the two Franks can't deliver.

I think Guzman is the man to beat Harrison. I was at Gleasons Gym in NY two years ago, and saw Guzman training there. He is fast, very strong, aggressive and has lots of cute little moves, something I feel Harrison poseeses little of. I can definately see Guzman stopping or KOing him.

Maloney has issued the following statement;

"I had a very constructive meeting with Scott and Peter (father and trainer)," Maloney told The Scotsman.

"Scott is adamant he wants to fight Guzman and that he can still make the weight safely enough top perform at his best in that fight.

"I support his decision and admire him for wanting to go down the toughest route, which Guzman definitely is.

"Scott has also agreed with me, however, that after Guzman there is really no-one else left in the featherweight division who represents a big challenge.

"After the fight, Scott will step up to super-featherweight and hopefully become a two-weight world champion."


After Guzman there is no one left in the division What about John, JM Marquez, Chi, Soto, Juarez, Abizi and Cook?

Good on Harrison, he's got a helluva fight on his hands with Guzman, so credit to him for stepping up.

Absolutely, I do see the end of Harrison's reign here - but credit for him if the fight takes place.

I hope Harrison isn't taking much rest because he cannot afford to boil down again, cause he has to fight him in 120 days.

I hope Guzman makes mincemeat out of him....or should that be haggis

I go along with these guys. He's hiding from nobody. Deserves respect whatever the outcome, as you know he'll go to war, and the biggest gun will prevail.

fornicating hell!!! Frank Maloney really is the best manager out there for pulling the wool over every ones eyes.

In my opinion that little lot have just rattled of a load misleading quotes to the media to make everyone think Harrison was looking to duck Guzman, then in their next move turn it all around and praise Harrison for taking on some sort of living legend.
