What has Abraham done to deserve his shot for IBF middleweight title? I reckon he will be another Ottke and fight in his back yard and only win dodgy decisions for the rest of his career. Come on Ikeke knock him out

So Jermain Taylor got stripped of the IBF? And wasn't Sam Soliman supposed to be no.1 contender anyway? I haven't really been keeping up lately.

Anyway I pick Ikeke to beat Abraham, he's too strong.

1: Dodgy decisions - the man has won 15 of 17 fights on KO
2: Taylor gave up the IBF title, he wasnt stripped
3: Soliman vs Wright was made agreed before Taylor gave up the belt (fighting in another org???). The winner of Abraham vs Ikeke will have to defend vs the winner of Soliman vs Wright in the first defense.

this numpty guy is talking fornicating bullshit. Artur pointed out Eastman who was considered the #2 in this division for a long time (before Taylor won vs B-Hop). Comparing Arthur with Ottke is like comparing Ruiz with Foreman. Watch out for Abraham. He will knock out Ikeke and rule the division in the future. He is far better than Felix Sturm and is just 2 years pro. This guy is hot.

Come on Bubi, Ikeke might be the lanky type but he's an absolute rock. No way is Abraham going to hurt him, unless he gambles completely on a early stoppage which would be pretty crazy.

Ikeke is 32 and not the MAN in Middle. He hasn´t boxed a guy like Eastman. Even Don King is keen on bringing Arthur to the States he said after the Valuv-Donald-fight. He is also convinced that Arthur will be the future man in the division.

I'll agree with you there Bubi, I do talk alot of shit! But in all fairness, who has Abraham actually defeated (other than a flat fading Eastman) to earn a shot at the IBF crown? A pro career that is just over 2 years with not exactly the who's who of middleweights on his record... Maybe I was jumping the gun comparing him to Ottke (probably the worst thing to insult a boxer being compared to Ottke!) We shall see, I am still rooting for Ikeke though!

Abrahams has beaten Howard Eastman, the once defeated and hot prospect Ian Gardner.... that is enough to warrant a shot at the vacant title in my opinion.....its not like he is getting a shot at Hopkins/Taylor...

Abrahams V Ikeke is two of the top 6 guys in the division squaring off...

Soliman V Winky and Hopkins V Taylor are the other 4 guys....

Basically we have the top 6 in the division all fighting each other within the space of a week....

i agree, Soliman is a good friend of mine and i know its his dream to fight for the world title, shame they couldnt make Soliman v Winky for the IBF.... makes sense for everyone really.... (except Abrahams and Sauerland).... IBF get more money as Winky V soliman is a bigger fight financially... Sam and Winky obviously get to fight for the title.... everyones a winner.

With regard to trying to rank the top 6 its pretty damn hard...... Taylor has to be top and Hopkins 2nd. Winky in my opinion is still a little unproven at the weight... beating a shot ex-welter (all be it a legend), Abrahams beat a shopworn lazy Eastman, Soliman lost to a peak Eastman, Ikeke beat a shot Echols...... its hard to put those fights into context and get a form guide

Who has Ikeke beat???? A very-washed up Antwun Echols who has never been the same since taking a beating from 'Nard Hopkins in the second fight.

Abraham will win this one- providing he can get through the Ikeke jab , which isnt so much powerful as accurate and annoying.

I suspect Ikeke's punches will be slightly more than an annoyance to Abraham, as will his physical strength.

This isn't going to be a repeat of the Eastman fight no way.

If he were British I'd still see someone like Ikeke as a significant threat.

No they are not, Veit is Universum and Abraham is with Sauerland. Abraham is trained by Uli Wegner who also trains Markus Beyer (and trained Ottke).

Abraham is actually training with Sylvester, Sam and Sipos.

Do you remember how shitty B-Hop was looking against Eastman? It was a horrible fight.

I thought it was a solid, comfortable title defence by Hopkins.

Ok, James, you are an expert, but please tell me why Ikeke hasn´t reached anything till now?

I give Abraham a fair chance in this one, especialy on home ground. He might outwork the African, getting a close decision.

I don't think either one will win this one easily and it looks fairly even to me. Though i think Abraham will win if he has worked some more on his stamina because in the Eastman fight he sometimes took quite some breathers.

I have to say i'm impressed by how fast Abraham is moving up to fight the big boys of the division. I just hope it isn't too soon for him since he is still a bit rough because if he wins this one Wright could be next and that fight will be mighty difficult.

I hope he wins the title and will fight Winky next year. We need those fights in Germany.

Can't see Winky going to Germany Bubi, he has already said that his globe trotting days are over. He only wants to fight in the US now.
