Can anyone tell me what happened after Greg Page KO'd Gerrie Coetzee in what should have been in between rounds of their title fight back in 1985?
I know the timekeeper messed up big time, but why was Page allowed to hold on to the title when an obvius foul had been made?
What kind of arguments were produced that gained Page favour?

Page knocked out Coetzee in the 3:50 mark where Gerrie should of still been in his corner attended to by his seconds. Absolutley no way Page should of kept the title as Gerrie was in my view winning the fight. Page tried to rush Coetzee at the start of the 2nd before the bell had rung which was a blatant foul, he also hit Coetzee after the bell in round 6 and pushed him down in the 7th, but Coetzee came back and at one point was on the verge of knocking out Page. In the 8th Coetzee was again ahead in the round but Page got in a right - left combo which knocked out Coetzee.

The WBA reviewed the fight but decided to leave Page as the winner.....Coetzee should of at least got a rematch but was denied it and was robbed by the judges like he was in most of his fights i.e Tate, Snipes (Worst decision in HISTORY)Pinklon Thomas and Page.

I agree that Coetzee got a rough deal in this fight!. I do think Page would have won anyway, but having said that the various problems with the time running over was either incompetence or rather suspicious. You can bet that if it had happened the other way round the American fighter would have got a rematch at least.
