I know very little about this fight other than Frazier and Cummings drew over 10. Can someone break down this fight and the scoring? Was it an appropriate decision? Does anyone have the fight or even just a clip to put up?

I have not seen this fight for years. If I remember correctly Frazier was very lucky to escape with a draw. I have the full fight, so I will check the scoring tonight. and get back

Frazier was very heavy round the middle but didn't fight that bad early on... sort of like a slowed down version of himself.. ...but in the second half of the fight Joe tired badly and was shook up several times and was luck really to get a draw. Cummings was a strong guy but pretty crude... all in all it wasn't a bad fight at all but showed Frazier that he had no future at the top in boxing anymore...

The fight was a sad one. Frazier's hook was but a mere slap. Cummings deserved the nod.

Even sader was Quarry's last fight.

Anyone feel free to drop Jumbo a letter over at Menard C.I. and let him know what you thought about the Frazier fight. He enjoys mail.

Quarrys last fight when he was about 46 was much worse... an absolute crime!... the people behind getting a already debilitated man in the ring again to be pounded on for 6 rounds should have been jailed......

This bout took place at the International Amphitheatre and Jumbo Cummings a guy with little talent who pumped iron in prison and thought it made him a fighter was flat out robbed. The referee was about to stop it in the 2nd round when Cummings pinned Frazier into a corner and then hammered him at will. Ali looked way better against Berbick.

Been years since I saw this fight.
I think Frazier was a good bit above his usual fighting weight.
Other than that, all I remember is that it was an awful fight.
Hope this was of some help to you
