Confirmed my flights and seats today. Though I must admitt I was a bit pissed off when I found out that McBride had chickened out (though by no means shocked) as I thought that Skelton would have eaten him alive.
The replacement 'Big' John McDermott is about as useless as tits on a bull but Skelton - McDermott has definate comedy potential.
Still Williams-Harrison, Magee-Takaloo and Mitchell-Spanish guy with decent record plus Khan should make it a decent night........though if one more big name pulls out I'm thinking refund.
Frank Maloney should have waited a while before writing his gushing praise of Warren and his matchmaking skills recently in the U.K. press.
He claimed it was a Heavyweight 'spectacular'. That is a word I would never associate with John McDermott.
Audley-Williams is fascinating and could be brilliant but Magee-Takaloo looks like a barnstormer and should be fight of the night. I'll be rooting for Magee the whole way.

It is a decent bill no doubt. There is also Ross MInter - Brett James, another good fight.

But I have been to tyhe excel Arena and it is not the best boxing arena - weirdly, unless you are close to ringside, the cheaper tickets are better because the seats are raised. If you are nearer the back of the flat section, you don't get a good view. and people stand up blocking your view if it gets good.

I saw Hatton-Oliveira here and this was a serious problem.

Sorry mate, didn't see the thread... you may have tpo stand on your seat, though the security will tell you to get down (weirdly they don't try to tell the people further forward to get down as it is much harder to reach them.)

Me & the Wife have seats 10 rows back, was all we could get.

Should still be a great night, cant wait for the big boys

Tak v Magee's off – announced on Meridien TV on Thursday and there was a short story on BBC Kent website but it's not on that link anymore – I don't think it was meant to be made 'official'. Not quite sure what is going on but will try and get as near an up-to-date comment on the situation asap. Don't quote me on this but I think it's something to do with Magee saying that he wouldn't be ready on time. Hasn't been made official by Sports Network yet so let's hope that's not true.

If that's true I'm not surprised. You know, I held off getting tickets for this one purely because it sounded too good to be true. Audley - Williams is still an interesting rumble but worth the prices they're asking? Not for me.


The sad truth is John McDermott's not a bad replacement for Kevin McBride.


But the strength of the card is now resting on the shoulders of Danny Williams and his mental state.

Tak v Magee is OFF! Magee not able to be ready on time apparently – they're trying to find an opponent for Takaloo as we speak.

I'm sure TBA will step in at short notice.

I'm sorry about my language.......but fornicate You Wank Warren. I've put down nearly £200 to get down there and for what.......the possibility that Danny Williams might show up to fight Audley Harrison?
Why the hell were McBride and Magee not made to commit to fighting before being put on the bill.
Maloney creamed his pants about this 'great card' a week ago and now it's a one trick pony.
Warren is without doubt the most useless matchmaker in major league boxing. He is just incapable of puting together a decent card. So what now we're going to see Matt Skelton, Mitchell, Khan and Takaloo steamroll nobodies. Whoopy fornicating doo. I could have watched that crap on TV with an option to bail out when it got too boring.
So far 2 fights have fallen through since I purchased my tickets. I have though learned my lesson. My hard earned pound will never again find it's way into that worm duo Maloney and Warren's idle pockets. Either in Glasgow, London or anywhere else.
Its one thing being pissed off when a fight you were looking forward to falls out on the TV but when you've sacraficed a weekend, work and cash for it.........I guess i'm paying for my stupidity.

Imagine how Tak feels? He's spent a small fortune getting himself ready for the fight and reshaping his body to be strong at 10st7lb, arranged training camps etc and he still doesn't even know if he's on the bill.

Tell you what, be interesting to see what kind of opponent Dean Powell (FW's matchmaker) can drag up, because I don't think he'll get anyone great and any 'name' opponent will be offered such crap money to stand in at short notice that they'll laugh and turn it down.

Feel very sorry for Tak, because the guy keeps himself in shape and if there's anyone who deserves to be given some work it's him. He's never out of the gym.

Apparently on the sprots network site they are saying there is a 'big' heavyweight announcement shortly that will be added to the 10th December card! Wonder who that could be? Tyson/Williams rematch

It is a piss take, me and Dirt have known for several days that its off, yet there has been no announcement from Sports Network....
Surely they arent acting in the best interest of the customers.. selling tickets for a fight they know isnt on.

There's also the dull realisation that whoever is brought in is not going to provide Magee's level of skill and combativeness. I understand that you don't get pedigrees late notice but the much-anticipated Mellis rematch will probably be closer to what we get than an ageing feller one fight back after having his legs broken.
