As some of you might have notcied, I am a bookworm when it comes to boxing. I have around 100 books on boxing and boxers in my shelf, but still miss plenty.
I would love to see (new) books penned on the following fighters:
- Ezzard Charles
- Joe "Old Bones" Brown
- Matthew Saad Muhammad
- Micky Walker
- Harry Greb
- Kid Chocolate
- Max Baer
- Benny Leonard
- Henry Armstrong
- Holman Williams
- Cocoa Kid
- Joey Giardello
- Kid Gavilan
- Terry McGovern
- Battling Nelson
- Joe Gans
- Panama Al Brown
- Jimmy Carter
- Beau Jack
- Harold Johnson
- Jimmy Bivins
I know there has been books written about some of these guys, but they are hard to find these days and probably should be updated.

Mario D'Agata, bantamweight champion who excelled in boxing despite being a deaf-mute. I would love to read about how he felt about boxing and people's reactions to him.

How quickly we forget that we are posting on a site with more information about more fighters than any other?

..another deaf mute about whom i and some others have written about on this site was eugen "silent" hairston. the boxing crowd called him "dummy" but the announcers and ring magazine and other publications used the more genteel "silent" instead.

jaclem i believe i just watched like 5 minutes ago lamottas fight against eugene hairston .
- of course this was a washed up beaten past his prime lamotta, who would soon suffer the only knockdown of his career.

Hairston was a good fighter. He beat several good fighters during his career, including Kid Gavilan, Laurent Daunthuille and Paul Pender.
For a short while he was a top 5 middleweight as ranked by The Ring.
Outside of Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright, he had more solid wins than anyone in the middleweight division today.
Probably underrated.

There have been several deaf-mutes to fight professionally, some were very good, though the names don't come immediately come to mind, but I have read about several!
