I know the Truth had a great jab and overall good skills but how would Carl fare in todays heavyweight division. Except for Klitschko V i think that he would do very good his only problem was vulnerablilty to the left hook. Any comment son how the Truth would do todayif he was at his peak?

the Truth was great as long as nobody tapped his chin

he looked very good vs an ageing Larry Holmes over 15 rounds, I'd say he gave Larry a tougher fight than Witherspoon did. I think Williams lost his focus along the way, got cocky, and tried too hard to imitate Ali. Very talented man, but like those other '80s guys (Witherspoon, Thomas, Tubbs) he didn't fulfil half his potential.

From memory, Weaver/Williams was a good little scrap while it lasted, as Williams was working Weaver over pretty good for the first round and half of the second. I believe Williams even had Weaver in some trouble and up against the ropes in the second round, when suddening Mike exploded that big left hook on Carl's chin and turned the fight in his favour.

In the Tyson fight, it looked like it might be a fight for a mili-second.Whenever Tyson tried to get inside, Williams locked him up. Then he threw that jab, and Tyson slipped under it................

Why is it that Williams could take right hands well enough but just wave a left hook near his chin and he'd hit the floor?

I know Williams only from his tyson-fight , but he seemed to have a very strong body!

I also have heard that he had a very good Jab. He had problems with left hooks. Before the tyson-fight the reporter said , Willimas was floored 7 times and everytime it was a left hook and so it was against tyson. AFTER Tyson he lost every second fight ( 8 of 16).

It's possible that he just couldn't see left hooks nearly as well as he could see rights.
