Light heavy Elvis Michailenko

Not many KOs on this man's record but he seems like an excellent boxer; hes gone into highly rated contender's back yards, including Germany, and come out with the win. Anybody seen any of his fights?

With only 12 fights under his belt, he went to Spain and defeated the 19-1-1 local favourite in Alejandro Lakatus by decision.

At 15-1-1, he went to Denmark and beat local star, 15-0 Giovanni Alvarez by UD.

And most recently, at 17-1-1 he travelled to Germany, and beat the 18-0 Kai Kurzawa by an impressive MD (so Im told).

But that fight was in March and he hasnt fought since. Anybody know when hes going to fight again, or seen him in the past? Opinions please.

I wouldnt call Giovanni a star, I doubt more than a few know him here.

He was surposed to have fourght in Germany last week but got injured.

I thought Alvarez nicked the win but Michailenko deserves his breaks, the guy fights on the road a lot. No one who watched Kai Kurzawa win a scandalous decision over Lolenga Mock will be surprised by his loss to Elvis, the guy was an accident waiting to happen.

Michailenko is a solid fighter -no frills. I remember seeing him get beat and beat badly by a rampaging Peter Oboh.

Elvis should have fought a few weeks ago in Austria but got a virus and had to pull out....

He is a hard working fighter decent at everything....

His Oboh loss was hard, he won the early rounds (which werent televised) but then ran out of gas as Oboh piled on the pressure in the later rounds...
Showed great heart and balls though... seems to have learnt from that defeat too.

He is working with Universum now I believe so hopefully will get the breaks.... a world title or Euro shot could be round the corner

It was a terrible robbery mate, Kurzawa didn't do a thing and he even looked embarrassed when they raised his hand! Mock just circled and landed plenty of shots while Kai just posed and lacked anything offensive. Disgraceful.

That may be the reason why Ive ehard so many good things about Mock then. It really sucks though whenever you hear about a robbery like that.

I have the fight from Australian TV: one of the commentators says at the end of the fight: "I have Mock winning 6-2, but I don´t think he is getting the decision in Germany". "Neither do I" said his collegue. When the decision was announced, they had a good laugh over german decisons.

Was the draw against Dodson Kosher? Moch was the guy who put Haye on his arse right? looked limeted in that fight but I am willing to believe he had more, the stoppage seemed a bit dogey in that one.

The home town descision in germany thing was brought home to me with Reid Ottke, you wonder how these juges sleep at night sometimes esspecially when some poor sod has put there sole into the fight only to loose because of corruption.

The Dodson draw was most definately not kosher.... Elvis won it for sure (Dodson was man enough to admit as much afterwards, full credit to him). Dodson of course campaigned at Super middle though to be fair

Michailenko is no longer the EU champ, dont know he if he have vacanted it or it has been stripped.

EDIT: Universum/Spotlight have Drews vs TBA on december 13th. Its a vacant title and Michailenko is rated 4th, maybe they are trying to make that match?

I was at that fight, Oboh was like something out of a nightmare, just gradually ripping him apart, Oboh doesn't look special, but he just keeps on punching and punching and punching.

Interesting story, just shows it was a bad decision. I think Steve Holdsworth on Eurosport had it really wide maybe even 8 rounds to nil i can't remember exactly.
