According to KOTV last night King intends to have a unification tornement and HW. They also said he was inviting Tyson and Hollyfild to the mix which to me makes little sence other than they can bring ing the $$.

However over all a positive step as the devision will have one recognised champion of what ever quality, lets hope we can see up and comming fighters such as Harrison, Vidoz, Valiuv etc put in the mix aswell.

He isn't always good for boxers - just ask Witherspoon...but he is DEFINITLY good for boxing!

I feel the same, as much as people knock old Don (myself included) he always puts on good value cards and a tournament is just what the Heavyweight division needs right now to sort out the losers from the losers.

If he's serious about bringing in Tyson and Holyfield, then that just ruins the whole point of the tournament. Having a unified champ to come out of Byrd, Brewster, Ruiz and Rachman is bad enough. Suggesting that either Tyson or Holyfield (in their present condition) should be given a chance to be the best heavyweight today would make it a laughing stock

He does shut less marcetable fighters out of the big fights sometimes which is why I wonder. But this is certainly possitive.

I'd like to see old Don try and sell a Toney-Holyfield rematch...that would stretch even his sizable talent for promoting an event!

I feel the same, what he might be trying to do is put all the champs in for a defence while he tries to get there fights sycronised so he can have the first fight on one bill. Ruiz has to defend against Valiuv anyhow and Rahman Toney. He Might be putting Byrd against Holyfiled and Tyson against Brewster in the hope that he gets lucky and one of them pulls off a fluke.
