Why is Donald Curry not in the HOF

He is eligible for the HOF. Does anyone else think he deserves to be in? You cant count the Norris and Nunn and Linton fights because we all know that wasnt the "real" Cobra in the ring.

I am a voting member of the IBHOF and I don't think he belongs there. I did not think Terry Norris or Don King belonged there either and they still got in.

Through the second half of his career he simply wasn't very good. If you took all professional sports and opened the doors of the hall of fame to people who had three good years the number of members would increase five fold.

Iagree, but the IBHOF is starting to get that way. Look at all the fighters in there that do not belong. You have Ali, Joe Louuis and then you have Ingo Johansen. That's like having Ted Williams in the baseball HOF and putting in a guy that won a batting title one year.

That analogy works for me, another way to look at Johansen is you could say he didn't stick around long enough to merit consideration.

Heavyweight champions get a free pass at IBHOF. With the lone exception of Primo Carnera, I believe every lineal champ up until Ali are in.
This practice I do not agree with.
Also, as much as I liked Barry McGuigan and Terry Norris, they have no business being in the IBHOF until guys like Holman Williams, Cocoa Kid and Lloyd Marshall make it first. Plenty of other guys are also more deserving.
But someone made a good point the last time this subject was up. Like everything else in life there is a cost. The IBHOF want to attract as many fans and customers as possible at the inductions. What attacts most customers is the fighters being there. With the majority of great fighters being long dead, the HOF has to settle for the ones still alive. That's why you have guys like Johansson and Norris there. It all comes down to money and profit as usual.
Still, I still hold the IBHOF in very high regard. Their official book, "The Boxing Register" is a must for any boxing fan, a tremendous resource when researching a fighter. Can't recommend it enough, and I have written to the IBHOF to ask when they are publishing their new edition. No reply as of yet.

Was wondering what your reason for not wanting Curry, Norris or Don King in the hall of fame.
