Not wishing to get Boxingchat too exited, but I must admit Warren seems to be raising his game at the mo.
What with alot more competition, and his so far disasterous ITV contract Warren seems to be putting together some VERY impressive cards, we are in for a treat!! What with the Harrison v Williams card shaping up to be a cracker, and news that the Calzaghe v Lacy showdown will have Nelson v Maccarenneli on the undercard I gotta hold my hands up in praise. Both on terrestrial TV too, this is VERY good for British boxing!!!

They havent "actually" happened yet. Why doesnt he announce Skelton vs Toney for the new year too.

If something goes wrong and both of these cards fall apart, in my opinion, that would be very detrimental to the resurgence of British boxing at the minute, and with Williams and Calzaghe involved, would anybody be Really, REALLY, surprised? Thought not.

The skelton card is terrible. After magee pulled out of fighting takaloo it lost any appeal whatsoever.

If they stick Enzo-Nelson on the Calzaghe card great , if not i doesnt matter to me , thats because im going to that fight no matter what the undercard is like.

I have a sneaking feeling that Johnny will retire on saturday.

Johnny wont retire. I wouldant be surprised to see him switch promoters though.

Isnt he a free agent after Saturday?

It was jsut something Johnny wrote on his internet column , that incinuated that he might call it a day after saturday.

He will if he loses , im positive of that.

Hatton Vs Tszyu, Calzaghe Vs Lacy, Audley Vs Williams I'm impressed and its definately an improvement since the WBU\IBO days.

Hopefully he and the other British promoters will be able to work together to line us up some good domestic clashes and hopefully he'll be progressing some of his fighters on the world scene, Enzo, Skelton and Moore especially. This combined with Mitchell being on the verge of stepping up in class (hopefully) and Amir looking to break records, te next year or 2 has great some real potential

When you think back to the cards Warren used to promote with Naz, Eubank, Reid, Calzaghe, Collins, basically 3 good scraps on the same night, I don't see why we should be wetting ourselves over 2 fights that might be happening in the next 5 months.

Lets be honest it wouldn't take much for Warren to raise his game from the trash he served up on Sky in the last 5 yers. While it is a step in the right direction they could still do a lot more, although he is making decent headline fights the undercards are often diabolical. A bit less profits in his pocket and a bit more on purses to get some decent fights on the undercard is the way forward.

Yes, too true. I supposed though we are starved of that type of action.

I wrote a thread on another forum entitled "Warren delivers" concerning the December big bill. I have suffered mocks about it since - not only because the bill has fallen apart, but I am saying he delivers and there is not even a geniune world title fight on the bill.

Its was hardly night of the undisputed, was it.

I don't think he has "delivered" as yet, more or less all the cards that are proposed have people drop off like flies one by one and we end up with a mish mash of mismatches and TBA's...try saying that when your drunk

Yeah agreed, its a step in the right direction (which wasn't hard), but there is still plenty of room for improvement

Perhaps I was a little exited when I started this thread, neither has happened yet, but none can deny it certainly is a step in the right direction.
