Not a bad draw for England, got Sweden, Trinidad and Paraguay
Should progress through that one OK, Sweden will be hard, England have not beat them since 1968 or something like that.
but not to worried about Trinidad, they have a load of english based players in the team, but Dwight Yorke and Stern John are their main strike force so not that strong.
Can't believe that Eriksson said he wanted to avoid the Aussies, he said that he would never of played the friendly against Australia if he had known what strong rivals they are with England.
Is he just thick or a complete fornicating idiot.

Let's be fair, he just had no idea bout the rivalvry, he is Swedish after all, they dont play cricket or rugby! Still, someone in his team should have spoken up when he suggested playing the Aussies in a friendly.

You'll qualify from tjhe group easy. You should beat, but might draw with, Paraguay, then the innevitable draw with Sweden. If you draw with Paraguay it'll be "oh no, we have to put at least 2 past Trinidad and hope Sweden and Paraguay draw." So you'll get through.
How does the draw for the round after that work again? Is it a free for all or is it a winner of A v runner-up of B type thing.
You won't, but I don't mind England winning the world cup. Scotland have just won the elephant polo world cup for the 2nd year running - we can't dominate everything I suppose

We will face someone from Germany's group in the 2nd round. So I think we will probably face Poland. That's if Poland come 2nd in their group and England come first in ours.

As easy as Germany's group is - they might not win it. They are poor at the moment.
England have got away with an easy group, only Sweden to fear.
The Dutch group is the hardest group you could have possibly drawn.

Good to see you being optimistic about your chances, but I'm not so sure. Australia made hard work of average Uruguay and didn't really start playing till the 2nd half of the 2nd leg. We shall see.

England are just too soft. Quarter finals then out. Probably on penalties.
