Yeah, that was weird. Its kinda hard to watch this fight. Frazier was done, and should not have been in there again with someone who absolutely owned him the first time. The only reason the fight went five rounds is because Foreman was not exactley the terror he once was before Zaire. You can first notice it in the Lyle fight. Howard Cosell and Ken Norton also notice and comment on it in the early going of the fight, before it exploded into the greatest heavyweight brawl of all time.

Frazier opted to fight a more defensive fight, as if he ever knew how to do that. In the end it only prolonged his beating. Foreman, who's boxing skills were always underrated, cut down the ring and delivered home the punches, but more methodically than in fight 1.

Foreman never looked as physically good as in that fight. No heavyweight throughout history would have not been somewhat intimidated by Foreman in that fight. He looked like the Hulk with an afro.

I disagree that Foreman wasn't as devastating. In my opinion Frazier 11 is second only to Chuvalo as the best fight of his career. He used that HARD jab and cuts off the ring beautifully, mixing up his work to the head and body. Frazier lasted longer b/c Futch had him not swarming as usual . . .he was fighting much more defensively and thus lasted longer. The fight also shows that Frazier, despite being clearly past his prime, had incredible reflexes. He also shows a very fast and under-rated jab that pops George a few times.

No, it wasn't just a longer repeat of the first fight. Frazier fought a smarter fight, tried to box Foreman this time, and actually might've won a round or so. However, he was washed up by this point, way over-weight, came in bald and, inevitably, ended up being splattered around the canvas once again.

foreman the 1st time beat a blubbery overweight slowed down joe frazier who was clearly never the same after ALI I. use the 10lb weight gain as an example, and eddie futch wanting frazier to retire because he knew he didnt have it anymore.

foreman defintley did not beat frazier at his best and u cant really make a case to prove me otherwise.

In Foreman Frazier one Frazier just fought the wrong type of fight. When he got tagged for the first knockdown he should have tried to stall out the round and regain his faculties the way Holmes did when he was knocked down by Shavers and Snipes. Instead he tried to press foreward even after a second knockdown. This strategy enabled Foreman to drop him a third time. If Frazier could have avoided that third knockdown he might have been a different fighter for round two. Alot of people thought it would have merely postponed the inevidable but I think he could have gotten back into the fight the way that Jimmy Young did in his fight with Foreman.

Frazier tried to be more cautious & not wade in as much, but he was shot by then & as soon as George started landing effectively, the fight was effectively over.

Frazier's corner pulled him out, because they knew he was done.

He didn't fight again until Dec 1981, when he drew with Jumbo Cummings, in a supposed tune-up for Ali -v- Frazier 4!

Ali also fought at the end of 1981 & thankfully lost, to spare us the indignity of seeing these 2 mighty, once great fighters, embarrassing themselves & the sport.

Who was shot more at this point? I didn't see the Frazier-Cummings fight but I have seen the Berbick-Ali fight. Ali looked like an ordinary contender by that stage. He was competitive and made it a close fight. I heard that Frazier looked absolutely shot at this point. Just going by that, I'd have to figure Ali would have beaten Frazier yet again if that match up happened.

He got a license to fight against Holmes because Don King held some medical reports showing a hole in his brain. The fight against Berbick happened in Nassau because he couldn't be licensed in the States.
