I think it's a probability rather than a possibility but one has to be careful when one doesn't have one's law book to hand...

Highway code has 2yrs Max custodial and unlimited fine for dangerous driving.

Aren't Naz's charges pretty much the same as those that got footballer Lee Hughes banged up? I think he got 6 years.

Surely it'll just be a fine? No alchohol involved, and his hot shot lawyer will argue it was a one off error of judgement ( or whatever ) etc etc

Young girl in my work has just got herself a 3 month ban. No fine, no penalty points.

If you remember Hamed did a runner from the scene, so not just a straight up dangerous driving charge perhaps, it will be fleeing the scene of an accident also surely? By rights he should be banged up, if any of us regular Joe's did what he has done we'd be going away for a little holiday why should it be any different for him.

Serious enough to add leaving the scene of a crime if he did you'd think..maybe that was his two "buddies", who just had charges dropped.

I remember from the time of the accident, Hamed and one of his brothers I think ran from the scene. At the time there was confusion as to who was driving the car, I'm sure I read somewhere they thought Hamed might have lent the car to someone who was uninsured. Just going on memory here so may not be the case.

It takes exceptional charges to send a celebrity to prison...or to even get it taken seriously

Fine looks the most likely scenario...who is that celebrity lawyer who gets all the footballers off? he`d probably get it thrown out

Yeah the old guy did die and Lee Hughes is now banged up for in Featherstone prison not far from me.

yeah but the diffrences is one was high on drink and drugs,the other just not paying attenion on the road.think it will be harsh if naz is sent down ,cant see it my self but who knows with all this terroist stuff and the fact naz is a hardcore musilm they may make him pay .

i have no faith in the british justice system.

Don't think he'll go inside: I hear the prison population is balooning, which I think is an outrage - why should these criminals be allowed the trip of a lifetime - something us normal folk can only dream about?

Regarding Lee Hughes and Naz, I'd forgotten that Naz didn't actually kill anyone (at least I hope not).

I used to work in Manchester and a mate of mine got off speeding (110 on the M62) by paying the brief Alex Ferguson used to get him off charges when he was speeding because he needed the khazi (or something). Anyway, this brief found some technicality to get my mate off. Cost him thousands, but he reckoned it saved him money on taxi fares to work in the long run!

Hughes' long sentence rests on a few issues.

Hughes already had a previous conviction for Drink Driving and so the Judge took this into consideration, along with the fact that Hughes also went missing for a few days after the accident.

hasn't naz got a bit of previous on a motoring offence. unless he fled the scene, he should be ok.
