Staredowns In Boxing

If looks could kill, which fighter had the most intimidating staredown
at a press conference or during the ring instructions?
My fav staredown was that Tyson vs Ruddock I presser. Mike looked into
eyes as to say "If You Even Flinch In My Direction...I Will Cave Your Face
In."
2nd would have to Hearns vs Duran
3rd would have to Lewis vs Rahman II. Lennox had a very 'cold' look
during those instructions

Liston's and Foreman's just said "I'm going to catch you, and when I do, I'm going to pound your fornicating brains in."
Hagler's stare gave the impression of a forcefield - he had tunnel vision. Nothing would get in his way, nothing could intimidate him.

Holyfield -v Tyson 2.
Holyfield looked so mean that night.
Tyson looked absolutely petrified & following his cowardly ear biting, I fully believe he was.
Leonard -v Benitez was a good staredown too.

The staredown has been overused to the extent it has lost it's luster.

I remember the staredown Frank Bruno gave Lennox. Bruno just kind of looked at Lennoz all smug like "Who the f#%k do you think you are trying to be bigger then me in England" I was sad to see Bruno come up short in the fight, but he eventually won a title

Good choice cybox, Bruno gave a Lennox a real mean look that night. Bruno was always good int he staredowns, Lennox wasnt really. Didnt have a scary face.
Best ever has to be Michael Dokes fuckin hell that was one ugly scary looking geezer. Check out Ruddock/Dokes.

"Bad" Bennie Briscoe was a real scary guy. Very tough, great puncher too, renowned hardman with murderous eyes. But then he found Marvin Hagler staring at him and Bennie had to turn and look away.

Tex Cobb was asked about fighting Shavers whom he described as the "baddest man God ever let walk on Earth". He pointed out the Shavers was "2 axe handles wide" across the back, with "muscles that had muscles" And he found it very funny that, given all that, Shavers tried to intimidate him with a staredown. Like Cobb said- what was he supposed to do run? If he was afraid he wouldn't have been there in the first place.

He beat Tyson during that staredown for their second fight; they didn't need to engage in an actual contest.
Tyson really did look petrified.

For me it was Liston or Hagler.
Hagler v Hearns (they knew and we knew it was going to be a war)
Hagler v Minter (Hagler looked like he wanted to eat Minter's heart)

The staredown both before the bell and after a few of the rounds between Leonard and Benitez jumped out in my mind when I thought of this category too

Holmes is up there. I don't know about "greatest" but he was decent outside of the ring. Unlike that lowlife Clay.

No boxer won a greater victory outside the ring than that of Ali. As a 3 rd class citizen took on the most powerful Nation on Earth and won. ALLAHU Akbar
