Kerr-plunk! Another hometowner

Can't complain too much since the whole fight wasn't shown, but my overall impression was that Kerr had the edge in class. It was the first time I'd seen him and, to be honest, I thought he was going to get knocked out - Hearn looked so much bigger, fitter, determined to impose himself and impress his fans.

As it went, Kerr looked to survive the heat, and managed to comeback to sicken and slightly frustrate Hearn down the stretch. It looked like class told; a clear but close one. But just looking at the ref as the seconds of the 12th ticked down... you just fuckin know... and it sucks.

Good luck to Ryan Kerr at middleweight, looks like a tidy prospect.

I couldnt disagree more. Hearn won that fight by two rounds at least. Kerr is definately the better technician, his footwork is beautiful for a super-middle.

However, he did next to nothing during this fight and was outworked and outhustled.

Hearn should be the champion this morning.

Incidentally, I was sat (by accident) with Hearns family and friends. Note to self, never go into a Colnbrook pub feeling a bit lairy. Even the women scared me :o

Thanks for the opposing view, Abbo. Since you've seen the full fight I'll take it that Hearn won. My overall impression was that Kerr done enough, but highlights can skew an overall impression...

Any shakes, it wasn't exactly on par with that Carl Thompson howler the other week, hence the Kerplunk reference: sometimes all the 'little' (alleged) hometowners, chip away week after week and I eventually have to have a rant. 8)
