Woody strikes again

Boxing promoter Steve Wood of VIP Promotions produced the best show of the year yesterday at The Reebok Stadium in Bolton.
Why? I hear you ask
Well where do I begin?
The show started at 2pm and finished around 9pm and within these hours the 800 people were entertained with numerous events which included:
A first class 3 course meal, with a warm winter vegetable broth to start, the main dish being Turkey thigh stuffed with Christmas mince, served with fresh vegetables and jus.
The desert was a Chocolate, Orange tart, served with grated chocolate and orange sauce.
The meals were very well presented as were the staff and each table was swiftly served with nobody overlooked.
Two huge bars at each end of this excellently furbished suite meant that there was no queuing when wanting a drink.
Then it was time for the comedian, he was very loud and very good. With his North Eastern accent which always gets people laughing he managed to tell a few jokes and also rip hell out of anyone who decided to get up and go to the bar or toilet. One of these poor individuals was none other than World Champion Ricky Hatton who was target for a barrel load of abuse by the comedian. This had the crowd in stitches. Ricky took it all very well and even returned some banter himself.
Ricky was not the only boxer to take the abuse, the others Jamie Moore, Andy Morris, John Murray and Steve Foster jnr all were in the firing line.
Following the comedian was a quick raffle to raise money for a couple of charities in which a signed Ricky Hatton glove sold for £2000 and a signed Amir Khan glove sold for £700
Then the draw, everyone put a £5 note in an envelope and put their name on it, with the winner claiming £500 and runner up £300
Then time came for the boxing to start, a buzz could be felt throughout the room as everyone waited for the first boxers to appear. MC Michael Pass announces the boxing to begin and in they came.
Some fine displays of boxing in a very well lit and very comfortable venue with the main event being Glossop lad Ali Nuumbembe against solid traveller Ernie Smith.

A good session of boxing was then followed by an announcement from Michael (Elvis) Pass that tickets were on sale for Ali Nuumbembe’s Commonwealth eliminator against Joshua Okine, which is in Manchester on Sunday 12th Feb.
As if the day had not been enjoyable enough, in walked 20 of the most beautiful females I have ever seen. The whole room was in silence as every single male in this men only event, had their eyes and mouths wide open. The girls all stood in line. The music started to play and the rest as they say, is history…………………………….
