JAMIE MOORE - With Thomas Mcdonagh withdrawing from the British title mandatory challenge and no reliable Sky date being offered, Jamie will now fight on ESPN in the USA to take the next step forward in his career. Jamie fights the well ranked Juan carlos Candelo over 10 rounds at the Foxwood casino in Connetticut on the 20th January and hopes to make a statement that shows he is above domestic level.

STEPHEN FOSTER JNR - After the disappointment of only drawing with Buster Dennis last week Stephen has been given the news to cheer him up. He will finally defend his WBU title on the 25th February 2006 in Glasgow against John Simpson.

JOHN MURRAY - Jim Watt on behalf of Sky has voted him the boxer to watch in 2006 , lets hope he keeps up the improvement and that Sky help his development !


JOLLY BOYS 2005 - A sell out dinner show saw the 5 VIP fighters all win.

Alex MattvienKO - Good debut performance saw Alex win 60 -55 with a very solid performance.

Craig Bunn - Another 60-55 debut win with Craig putting a good range of shots together after a nervous start.

Mark Thompson - A 2nd round KO win against Tony Rendall was very impressive.

Gary O,Conner - Ring rusty after a 2 year lay off but got better as the rounds went on for a 59-55 win.

Ali Nuumbembe - Stopped the durable Ernie Smith in a 4 round assault which will have helped shake of any ring rust before his challenge to Joshua Okine in a final eliminator for the Commonwealth title which takes place in Manchester on Sunday the 12th February 2006 - full bill and ticket info on next weeks gossip.

I wish Foster would give up the WBU title, he's defending it against Simpson, who although a good british fighter lost clearly in his last fight against Andy Morris for the British title.

If Foster didn't have the WBU , we would be looking foward to a clash between him and Morris, which would be a great fight.
Sky sports have stated that they don't want to have WBU fights on there channel, ITV look like doing the same , so to me the WBU are a worthless quantity , they will only hold back Foster not take his ambitions foward.

I'll be looking forward to the Moore v JC Candelo fight, i reckon that has ingredients to be a classic if Candelo still has any ambition that is. After losing 3 fights on the spin and not fighting for a while he might be just coming for the payday.

You'd assume that's why they brought him over.....hate to be a cynic, but he's a recognised name who probably aint got much left in the tank.

Very good fight for Moore, its a big step up. Whilst Candelo is on the slide, he loses to Ouma and Rubio are not too bad.

Candelo has a great chin and could test Moore's stamina. I actually think he is the favourite here - good fight.

Foster vs Simpson is also a good fight, I wish it was an eliminator for the British title instead of the WBU bauble. Given Foster's lacklusture outing last time, it is a toughie to call. Morris has been very impressive of late and a comprehensive points loss, doesn't mean that Simpson is a poor fighter - I think Morris might beat Foster by a similar margin.

Why the hell has McDonagh pulled out? About time he stepped it up although Moore would annihilate him I reckon.

Just posted this news (Moore vs Candelo) on another forum with some excellent US poster....

Not looking so promising, aparently Candelo has been nothing short of "terrible" in his last two fights especially, and has been described as a shell of a fighter.

I think he wants to get to 133-0-2 (7) and might then fight Ernie Smith for the WBU Penta-Continental title if he feels the times right!

Although he has lost to Rubio it is still not a bad result seeing that Rubio near enough knocks out most of his opponents.
He has got a good chin and may be on the way down could be a great opportunity for jamie to put rds in the bank and put in a good performance. is Buddy Mcgirt still training Candelo ?
