I watched a UFC scrap the other day, some Fella Mark Wier from Gloucestershire KO'd some dude in like 9 seconds.

It got me wondering what is the quickest recorded KO in a boxing ring, and who dealt it?

Weir has a habit of doing that.. he did some one in about 17 seconds last month

Gilfachs ducky rees scored a fasten against des snowden (think) a few years back. I only had one flight of stairs to reach my seat, heard the bell, heard the count start, got to my seat saw the ref wave it of.
About 6 secs i think.

Actually the official time is 4 seconds, quickest win in boxing history.
Teach me to turn up late eh!

Yeah it's a bad one, though technicaly legal - Nicky Piper did the same thing, mentioned above: his opponent put out his hand to touch gloves, and Piper dropped a right hand on his chin - KO1.

For an actual knockout and not TKO, Al Foreman knocked out an opponent in 1 1/2 second...11 1/2 seconds including the count.

Worked a couple of times for him 1st round KO's of Tyrone Trice and Sammy Fuentes

I have no problem with fast starts but it's completely fornicating out of order if the other guy is trying to show sportsmanship by touching gloves.

Then again, does anyone remember the shitty trick Eubank used to pull when he was in bother? Go to offer a glove yourself and when the other guy was in the middle of responding, try and take his head off?

Yep. He would do whatever it took to get the 'W'. Remember the sneaky headbut against Sherry in his first defence? Sherry tried to overplay it but Eubank was thoroughly frustrated that night.

Eubank, despite boring me to sleep some nights, had an over whelming will to win, probably best displayed in his hurculean efforts against Watson (2nd fight) and his 2 losing encounters with Carl Thompson.

Ian, Naz tried that on in final round with Barrera, extend glove with the other one cocked and a big grin on his face. Loved the response from Marco, he slapped the piss out of him then put him head-first into the corner post, cheating a cheat I'd say.

Totally agree. Hamed was terrible that night and getting slammed into the corner post was the final humiliation. Not as humiliating as shitting into a bucket which he'll hopefully be doing in 2006 though.

Watching Dunstan-Gurov the other evening, that must have been a quick one. And didn't Eubank stop a Brazilian with the first punch i seem to remember?
