Is he planning on anything special at Light Heavy like unifying or anything?

I've been told that he should be fighting in February, don't know of an opponent yet.

I'd like to see him have an easy defence next time out, then fight Johnson later this year then go for Tarver in Early 2007 (doubt Woods will fight 3 times in 2006)

Tarver might not make Light Heavy again though, the guys put on some muscle for that Rocky movie although he still looks skinny on it.

Didn't he have an easy time with Gonzalez though? He might turn out to be Woods mandatory again too since he was a number 2 spot! :o

woods' next mandatory should be glen johnson. when glen realizes he can't get tarver for another fight, he'll go for woods i'm sure. i'd like to see woods v adamek, who's coming along beautifully. he won that war with paul briggs and clinically dismantled thomas ulrich. or a fight between woods and erdei would be interesting. zsolt just recently proved he has grit to go with his skills, vs sahnoune.

forget jones, who doesn't even try to win fights these days, forget tarver, who won't fight at 175 again. bring on Eric Harding, who still has a lot left (beating Telesco and Daniel Judah) and is the only man to beat Tarver comprehensively. though tarver put in an awesome effort to stop the division's trickiest guy in a rematch...

Erdei's the proper linear when he beat Gonzalez who beat DM, Tarver's just a poser. :TU:

Woods should beat Glen this time.

Would like to see him unify though.

neither one looks a convincing champ. woods and especially adamek look better at this stage

Apparently on the other forum there is talk of a jones rematch. DOn't think Jones should still be fighting but he will improve woods's marcetability and make a tarver fight more likely.

i've just read about that. is this cynical bollocks or what? Jones is a brand name - just like an empty packet of crisps!

Hopefully the ticket buyers remember Jones-Tarver I, Jones-Tarver III and stay the fornicate at home, instead of supporting nonsense like this.

With Woods being more of a counter puncher, who the heck needs another damn pose fest. too many of them already.

Jones makes sense to all parties from a business point of view. He probably regards Woods as the easiest touch out there to get a world title, FA will pay him well and there's no way his ego will let him quit a loser so he'll keep going until he wins. He'll sell out Sheffield (if they have at least a couple of decent undercard draws).

Woods beats the shat out of Tarver and Jones at the moment. Tavers more of a celebrity than a boxer.

Hunger is the key and i do no believe that Tarver has that hunger anymore , whereas someone like Woods does , he wants to prove he's the best.

Tarver has nothing to fight for in his opinion these days apart from money.

Why did they give Tarver the Ring belt anyway? For beating Jones the second time!

Jones never relinquised his title , hence Jones was still the Ring champion a the time of the first and second fight.

Tarver beat Jones for it.

Jones was never ring champion though. :-?

DM should of been before Gonzalez beat him though.

Jones was he'd been champion when he unified the divison against Reggie Johnson , his move up to heavyweight and title success still he didnt reliquish the title.

DM should have been champion in 1997 , but you know what the Ring are like

i know, but it's a shame that big name fights with zero action and subdued skills are raking it all in. Jones-Tarver III, Hopkins-Taylor I and II. plus roy is damaged goods as much as a village slapper

DM unified them before Jones though but got stripped. Jones also vacated his WBC title but gave him it back just because he wamted it back.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Calzaghe talk resurface once Lacy is out of the way.

Despite lot's of banter stating the opposite, I think Clinton needs Calzaghe, just as much as Calzaghe needs him.

imo, woods beats calzaghe

I'd support Woods but I wouldn't like to see either lose.

Calzaghe could fight Adamek or Tiozzo after Lacy since he says he's moving to Light Heavy.

I think whatever happens there are some good fights to be made at Light Heavyweight, Adamek has surfaced from the shadows and looks every bit the solid puncher, he took some great whacks against Briggs who hits very hard and still came back punching, that shot he caught Ulrich with was a beauty as well. I hope we get some unfications on soon, i doubt Adamek would have a problem going to Germany again to unify with Erdei or come to England to unify with Woods.

i hear that adamek will be the 'replacement' for the less than convincing erdei, just as erdei took over the reigns after the long in the tooth michalczewski...

adamek looks like the best at 175 to me. he won that great fight with briggs, and really broke down ulrich. i don't think the sloppy, huffing and puffing tarver is the best, no way.

So your suggesting Adamek will be German based then? That's interesting. He seems like a guy willing to travel and take on all comers so i am hoping he will avoid the trap of staying at home and defending. Adamek-Erdei will be interesting if i happens but after watching both of their most recent fights i would back the Pole to do the job on Erdei.

I know it sounds a bit of a stretch, but Adamek's long, stinging shots remind me a bit of Monzon. Not as heavy handed as the great Argentinian, but I love the way he stabs his punches out. Ulrich's head was snapping horribly, he gave him a real systematic beating.

i heard rumours/innuendo that universum would like to keep hold of adamek, and it's no secret that erdei looks ready to get beaten before he's really started his work...adamek and briggs fought on the same bill, adamek stopping ulrich and brigs stopping etienne whitaker. wouldn't be surprised to see 'em have a rematch in germany

i'd like king to really do something with adamek. he can help draw good crowds in Chicago, given the Polish population. and i think he has the tidy skills that we see in the best of german boxing. would love to see him come over here to fight woods.

I would like to see Adamek stay with Don King rather than stay in Germany, i would expect the more meaningful matches to be made if he did. And as you say he could draw on the Polish contingent in America, we need the best fighters to unify for the good of the game.
