Do any of you guys have the same addiction, of just looking at boxers records and just clicking on people have have beatn this guy, then clicking on fighters who have beatn him, untill you end up spending like hours on end searching through the data base?

I don't...there must be something wrong with you! Just kidding...I have spent hour after hour going through records. I'm always working on some kind of boxing list, or researching the career of a particular fighter. Of the many lists that I am always working on, one is an index of all heavyweights that were either ranked, or had 25+ wins...so far I have only completed a couple of letters, of which S is below (The format looks terrible, but everything is even in my word document). I like to have lists of this nature so that I can have something handy and quick to refer to if ever needed:

You left out Paul Sykes, a very decent British Heavyweight prospect of the late 70s... had a short career due to certain misadventures but was a good prospect at one time and was on verge of getting some fights in America till everything went pearshaped... he challenged John L Gardner for the British title and did well until he ran out of gas...

Well he was talented, he only had about 12 fights I think... but at one point was being lined up for a fight with Leon Spinks... had he beaten Gardner he would have got some big fights in America... unfortunately he has always been a very volotile person and has spent most of his life in and out of prison... interesting character though... he actually wrote a autobiography which was very good about his early life and boxing career, unfortunately it seems he is now a down and out alcoholic now...

I used to know Sedillo fairly well, to the extent that we worked out at the same gym and he was fighting Moorer and Maynard then so he was the local hero and I got to watch him work out many times

Yes, it can be addicting. The database is great. I really like some of the info that you don't see in other record books, like what the opponents's record was at the time that the bout took place.

Other features like the fighters weight and his opponents weight is great, as well as when their is the scoring by the judges. Sometimes the little anecdotes are amusing.

Often a guy will have a record that is like 40-5 and than as you scroll down his fights you don't recognize the names that he beat and then you stumble on to someone you are familiar with and sure enough he lost to that guy.
In another words, he's 40-0 against people you haven't heard of and 0-5 against guys you have!
However, like you when you stumble across a guy that he lost to that I'm unfamiliar with I just have look him up too!

For example I find myself looking up guys like Willie Meehan (beat Dempsey) Marty Marshall (beat Liston) Ki-Soo Kim (beat Benvenuti) and so on.

What I really like about it is that if you take the time to really study a guys's career you can get a better idea how good he was.
