The Japanese version of Victorious Boxers 2 is the best boxing game I've ever played for the PS2.

The first Rocky game for PS2 is pretty solid. Rocky Legends isn't that great though.

Victorious Boxers was a great game when it came out...graphics are fairly dated now though.

Fight Night Round 2 overall is the best PS2 boxing game. The AI isn't great and so it's fairly easy to destroy every opponent you face, even on hard mode, but the gameplay is very fun and fighting other people online (if your PS2 has the capability) should keep you hooked on it for a while. The graphics for Round 2 also happen to be, as of right now, by far the best of any boxing game.

Fight Night Round 3 should be coming out early next year, and if all goes well it should overtake Round 2 as the #1 boxing game for PS2.

Whatever you do...DON'T buy the Mike Tyson game for PS2. It's easily the worst boxing game i've ever played and quite possibly the worst game I've ever played.

I used to have a PS One & in 1996, there was a game called Victory Boxing & it was superb.

It was the only boxing game I've ever played, where you could actually 'box' properly & steal rounds etc etc.

Your fighters style depended on how tall, stocky & muscular you made your fighter, so you could be a long rangy, jabbing style fighter whop runs alot, or a Joe Frazier type slugger with short arms etc etc. You could also play as a female boxer; it was excellent.

It's old now, but you can play PS One games on the '2' & it is definitely worth a look, if it is still available.

The sequel, Victory Boxing 2 was nowhere near as good.

Not exactly pertinent to the question...but my all-time favorite boxing game is still Mike Tyson's punch-out for NES. I still dust it off and play it from time to time.

King Hippo represent :TU: :TU: :TU:

Why is Rocky better than Rocky Legends?... I've managed to get hold of Victory Boxing contender... not sure if thats the original 'Victory' title... I've also got HBO Boxing which looks interesting... haven't played them yet.
Whats the views on Knockout Kings?... people seem to have their favourite years... some seem to like 2001 better while others say that the '99 original was the best version... 8) ...so many games, so little time!..

The Japanese version of Victorious Boxers 2 is definetly the best boxing game available at the moment.
