Interestingly enough he has been ko'd a few times by punches. This is from the official k1 website.

Should be interesting to see how he takes being punched by a proper boxer! Although he looks a tough chap I dont think he'll do much at world level. Ten years ago maybe but not now. I think his kickboxing record is more impressive, does anyone have that to hand?

This has been discussed before and one big point was that in K1, with kicks involved etc..., there is more chance of leaving your chin exposed and hence more chance to get knocked out - in comparison to straight boxing. Just one view point anyway.

Matt also had one mixed martial arts fight at a PRIDE event in Japan in 2001 and was dominated and choked to submission by wrestler Tom Erikson in just over a minute into the first round.

It will take a lot to convince me of Matts abilitys as a real boxer, seems to have beaten a couple of resonable fighters on a bad day (sprott etc) but never a good boxer. I would still pick harrison over him.

Your pick mate, millions wouldn't. I won't be picking Harrison in any future fight that isn't a mismatch

Due to the k-1 tournament setups a lot of the guys have losses as the level of competition is more on a level playing field and to even have a winning record is a pretty good acheivement.

Aint no protected fighters there lads or padded records. Think jd chapman and reverse it.

I watch Eurosport when K1 is on & believe you me when them kicks connect they look EVIL

I wouldn't discount Skelton yet boys remember boxing is a different game to K1 & kickboxing etc etc, i've still got faith in Matt.

Right - most fights are more or less evenly matched. so fighters have more losses.

I think he is Korean, I saw him against bob sap (another mamoth freak) and it was utterly hillariouse they both went at it and ran out of steam after 40 or so seconds and just weesed and stood off each other untill the reff made them fight each other. then they just kept taking every chance to stop and then did a bit of wresteling after that I forgave audley harrison.

MMA and kickboxing is mostly pretty boring, I reckon.

Choi Hong Man, and he is Korean. I think he's only about 22 as well, and he's constantly improving.

DId you see the latest K1 Grand prix final???

All of the real fighters in that have great hands and its more exciting than perhaps 80% of boxing matches in my opinion as its just 3 rounds and they really go for the KO... you dont get pawing of the jab or nobby nobbs boys spoiling for 4 rounds

The Grand prix final was excellent..
Musashi gets sparked by a flying knee to the head by Brazilian dude... who then gets to the final and gets sparked by Semy Schilt with a huge knee......

Right - they only have 3 rounds so they are more action packed and I believe no holding is allowed.

Also they fight several times in a night so prefer a quick night.

Finally matches are more evenly matched, so you get two guys with good skills.

Boxing is still No 1 though..!

matt is a credit to boxing. he ducks no one and makes the most of his ability.

I agree, i like Matt Skelton, got the heart and soul for boxing. :)

I guess I rate harrison higher than a lot of people on this forum. I respect why many of you hold little faith in him, esspecially in light of the WIlliams fight. However I think he can beat Skelton and hear is why:-
1) He fought the wrong fight against Williams and had he been forced to fight more the result would have been different
2) Skelton would have a lot more trouble than williams landing clean, he has a good jab and is good at not getting hit.
3) Although Skelton has not ducked anyone I think the most skillful fighter he has been in against is Sprott who is still a level below harrison who is a skillful big fellow.

Skelton would destroy Harrison. He'd just keep coming and coming and break his heart. Look how Harrison near shat himself and was exhausted with Williams coming at him for about 30 seconds of every round imagine Skelton coming forward 3 minutes of every round.

1) He didn't just fight the wrong fight, he didn't fight. He fought like he just cacked his pants. He was too scared to think tactically.

2) Williams has a better jab than Skelton, but at 9st 4, was hardly a mobile target.

3) How can you say Sprott is a level below Harrison, ummm whoose BEATEN Danny Williams.

Audley is not a skillful big fellow, otherwise he would be undefeated.

I'm just trying to picture Danny Williams at 9st 4 trying to fight his way out of those huge trunks he wears!! It would probably provide more entertainment than his last fight!!
