I got this DVD for Christmas and watched it in it's entirety. It brought back many memories.

For those of you who have seen it can you comment on what you think of it? Objectivity, Quality, Inclusivity. It was of course more than a film on boxing. But any comments would be welcome especially from those of you who may have been close to the events that this film depicts.

I'm not all that interested in what may be most controversial aspect of the film regarding sexual orientation. It's a non issue with me, but did Paret's Widow ever speak with Emille? Also did you think it fairly depicted Emilles work in the ring overall?

Any comments, reviews, insights would be greatly appreciated.

Also where do you rate Emille as an all time welter or middle.

boxbuzz...were did u find the movie?... i was checking out my local movie stores n i couldnt find it.. i watched part of it when it was on TNT or AMC...whatever channell it was. looked good. i saw clips of the fight with paret and i think ts a very interesting story.

The best place to find it now would be at Borders or some big book store. They tend to carry movies of this type. It is in national release and has been for over a month or so.

I saw that movie on television, and I thought it was a great film. I even recorded it for the reason that it was that appealing to me. It truly showed Griffith's life at an approach no one else viewed it as. I never thought much of Emile prior to watching that film. In truth, I have an enormous amount of respect for that man, with what he had to deal with following the last Paret fight and life after retirement. If anyone is curious about Emile Griffith’s life, the Paret battles, and other things surrounding his career, watch it.
